What Are Pseudo-seizures

Thank you so so SO much for explaining this!! I have tics as well and I've experienced this so many times, but because I don't have other types of seizures, and I don't have absent seizures, I always thought I was somehow faking it. I didn't understand what it was that was happening to me, I ended up thinking it was some sort of tic.

I have them, and you explained it pretty well . I also have involuntary spasms it's not tics just random spasms in my body it can be anything from my eyes to a arm or leg movement

People with severe PTSD and anxiety disorders can also have them chronically as well. Due to the intense trauma from past experiences or from a situation. The brain literally can't handle what's going on and practically shuts down usually as a defence mechanism. Not all people who have pseudo seizures are conscious some are unconscious but because it's not considered epileptic or illness related. It is instead called a pseudo-seizure.

When I experienced one for the first time. It was horrifying. And around the fifth to sixth time I experienced one I fell completely unconscious and painfully couldn't stop shaking. I almost hit my head on a trash bin and hurt myself from the fall. It's sometimes called a "fake seizure" again because it's non epileptic. But to the person experiencing it. It is 100% real. Without a doubt.

Once when I happened to be having one in the middle of a class. I noticed like my entire class (except for my one close friend who was comforting me) start to laugh at me and I don’t think I’ve ever been so upset about something… when I “came back” I felt everyone looking at me but no one was laughing anymore and it just pisses me off to this day.
