Please stop saying this guy is in love, he is probably nervous and trying not to look at the camera. He knows she will be asking him questions so he is focused on her.

They did not expect the storm surge? I heard warning after warning about the storm surge!
However, I do feel horrible for the people and the animals. Literally, a disaster.

That vehicle is great for coastal rescues. Thanks to all those involved, pros, volunteers, everyone trying to get rescue peeps to those in need. Sorry to hear of loss of life. ♥🇬🇧

"Didn't expect this?" How could that be? I live a thousand miles north of Florida and I've been checking the weather network for the past several days to see what impact the storm will have on us and when.

There were plenty of news outlets warning people for days about this hurricane.

If you don’t live here, you don’t understand. *Not everyone owns a car, not everyone is mobile. We have a lot of seniors with health problems, Not everyone has the finances to stay in a hotel if the shelters are full.* Yes, there are shelters, but if you have a pet which you love like a child, there are not a lot of shelters which will take pets, you have to register in advance, bring supplies because those pets won’t be near you.

How did they not expect it when there were so many warnings of this for the past week? They don't take the warnings seriously.

Thank you to all the service workers, the media and all others risking their own lives to be the rescuers. The shot of the Mother and her brand new Baby at the beginning of the clip is heart breaking. Have you non believers now woken up to climate disruption yet? Blessings to All those affected and may this pass over quickly sparing all the Souls possible.

I get the jokes about the smitten rescuer, but kudos to him and the other folks on his team, who are out in the worst weather saving people.

This comments are...disheartening...As a Florida native who now lives in the big bend region, I won't deny that complacency can be a factor, but if you've lived somewhere for 30+ years with no incidents, would you really be that inclined to leave for this one? You wouldn't -- not if you were honest.

People lost their homes and their lives because an unprecedented event happened for the time in 100 years. My house and family are safe. Many of our friends are not so fortunate. I dont think now is the time to get haughty about what you "would've done" else's shoes.

This was the worst storm i have ever been through since ive moved to Florida in 2009. I was terrified, not only the water but the wind. I lost power and had some damage to my home but myself and kids are alive.

Why don't people evacuate when they're told to do so?

Yes! Local law enforcement should be spending so much more money on things like this amphibious vehicle, and less on riot tanks and body armor. It's serve and protect. Not abuse and oppress.

They have been forecasting up to 20 foot storm surge for days now. Anyone who says they didn't expect that has not been paying attention. I live in California and have been following this storm pretty closely, and even I know that these people should not only have been better prepared, but many should have evacuated or at the very least gone to a shelter. Their inaction put first responders lives at risk.

Anything over a Category 1 is nothing to fool around with. Evacuate.
