92?! These numbers are such a slap in the face for these poor people who just lost everything and don’t know where some of their family members are, there’s well over 1000

I’m here in Mitchell county. We and Yancey County were hit extremely hard just as Buncombe county was which I was born and grew up in. There are way more missing and or gone than is being reported and the damage is unfathomable.

The death toll is massively higher. There are 200+ identified. Hundreds maybe a thousand plus are missing or in morgues waiting identification. Many will probably never be found. This was catastrophic.

It’s made me look at my future homesite in an entirely different light. I looked up the flood maps and was shocked… what happened here, can happen in any mountain area like TN GA NC. WV etc… the amount of rain dumped overloaded the creeks, spillways etc and it’s actually impossible to imagine unless it’s happening to you…. 🙏🏼

Hey you guys should do a similar video about Lahaina, HI. How many are still missing there?

I live in Burnsville, Yancey County. “Dozens” is grossly inaccurate for not only us, but neighboring counties. They won’t tell us the number for a long time. It’s political now. Plus, winter is coming. Ground will freeze, snow will come. Sadly, Springtime thaw will reveal a great deal.

So much heartbreak. Our prayers and hearts are with the many families contending with losing their loved ones. 🙏🙏🙏
I have loved ones all over the states. Hurricanes are a part of my oldest son's life since he moved to Florida 3 years ago.
Thank you for sharing this information. Almost no media is covering this topic.

I still have not found or heard from family and friends in Asheville. Hotline does not call. Welfare checks have not answered. 😭

The flood waters ripped trees from the ground, tore apart building, destroyed roads and and bridges, Now imagine what it did to a human body. They’re scattered in pieces throughout the flood pathway.

I know that these six states must have had many hundreds if not thousands of homeless prior to storms. Never any mention of these. And what about people just passing through or visiting ? These numbers can't even be close.

There were a large amount of homeless throughout the entire region who camped along every major river and minor stream for years. We'll never know about them. The River Arts District and Carrier Park area in Asheville were a constant camping ground.

its horrifying... after all this time those lost may never be found. Seeing the devastating and the destruction and how the floods tore things to shreds finding human remains seems an almost impossible task. As horrible as this sounds its most likely the final outcome. My heart hurts for these folks and their families.
