These are just 4 of many possible reasons why you might not be achieving the fat loss results you're after...⁣

1) Sticking to your diet during the week but then binging on the weekend.⁣

Remember that it's your *average* calorie balance over the course of the week, month and year that determines net fat loss or fat gain. If you eat in a 500 calorie deficit Monday through Friday and then "reward yourself" by eating in a massive surplus over the weekend, you could easily undo a lot (if not all) of the weight loss progress that was made during the week.⁣

2) Not accounting for "hidden" calories such as sauces, oils, liquids, snacks.⁣

If you've ever tracked your calories in detail then you know just how insanely fast these sorts of things add up.⁣ If you want to keep your total calories under control then stick to cooking spray instead of oil, lower calorie sauces, sugar-free beverages, and if you are going to snack, be very mindful of portions.⁣

3) Over-estimating how many calories you're burning through exercise.⁣

Weight training and cardio don't burn calories at nearly as high a rate as you might think.⁣ People will often put in an hour at the gym and think they've melted off 1000 calories, not realizing it was actually less than half that amount.⁣

4) Trying to lose weight FAST rather than focusing on sustainable habits.⁣

Aggressive cutting phases can be fine for those who are more experienced, but for those who are still new to this, very often it's the case that "fast equals slow" and "slow equals fast".⁣ Make it your goal to develop nutritional systems and diet habits that you can maintain over the long term rather than resorting to extreme methods that only last a few weeks.⁣

1) Sticking to your diet during the week but then binging on the weekend.

Remember that it's your *average* calorie balance over the course of the week, month and year that truly matters.

watching ur vids has helped me come to terms with the fact that I'm in this for the *long* term benefits, not to get shredded in a month since that's just not how it works, keep up the work man, you're putting out lots of good free information and it means the world to people like me trying to get their bodies back <3

I've always been a fat guy but I started going to the gym and now a couple months later I have way less of an appetite and now that I'm cutting and doing cardio it seems easy and I wish I did this a couple years ago while in high school and I absolutely love your short to the point videos. Thanks for the help and information.

Sustainability is the key here! Find something that works for more than a week, or month.
You the best dude, real content!

Smashed myself being a carer for 6 years, then got another smashing with the world's longest lockdown. Been working on losing a kg a month since then, while building muscle (lifting 4X a week and moderate cardio 3X a week). If you eat at just below maintenance and increase protein, you can build muscle and lose fat at the same time. You just need to be happy with the slow nd steady approach for both.

I’m not losing fat because I’m depressed and it doesn’t matter how much you change your eating habits or even work out, if you’re stressed and depressed then you’ll end up at square one. Make sure to take care of yourselves mentally first and foremost.

I’m a long time lifter, gym rat and run on the days I don’t lift. Plus, I play a rec league sport. I eat all my fruits and veggies, started eating meat again, snack on yogurt and nuts. My weight fluctuates so much it’s hard to tell if it’s fat or water weight or muscle…
