Doctor, nobody ever explained it to me as well as you did ! You have an extremely logical way of explaining a concept. So many people i have watched on YouTube tried to explain this but i never quite understood. You are Number 1. Also rooibos tea tastes so good and i seem to have a bit more energy during the day. Maybe it’s placebo but maybe not.

Been on Carnivore 400 ish days now and I just gained a few pounds and its due to me cheating and thinking its ok.
Its putting sugar in and thats stopping the fat as fuel process.

Just had a conversation with a older priest that stopped by our building and he kept saying you need 40% carbs 30 protein 30 fat. I gave up! I told him what I was doing and he said your gonna have trouble very soon. I just went into my building shaking my head. There's no reasoning with some people. He kept saying you need carbs I said no you don't! My bloodwork is now perfect and off the meds. He kept trying to interrupt me that's when I had enough.

I suppose ANY additional exercise is a good start, even if it is only an extra tiny bit each day.
Most of us try too hard too fast, and give up.

Lift weights and run sometimes and clean carbs or weight maintenance/ loss is literally never a problem.

So solution for this situation is much longer fasting. Not 16 hours, not 24 hours, but few days or weeks. Your fat storages gives you energy, depends on your obesity level, few months or even year (?), your liver have enough nutrients for 6 months at least in reserves.

I was always thinking about protein needs in this long fasting periods, people doing this for very long time reports that for example their skin shrinks naturally without surgery after loosing a big ammount of weight, so here you go, for example your "useless" skin (or much smaller stomach) after weight loss as protein source for your body, all these internal processes, hormones, enzymes.

And of course their insulin resistance goes away in these long time periods without any food and any insulin spikes at all. Because carbs, proteins and fat, all rises insulin. Long time fasting gives perfect sense and if you will go this way, guess what. You are eating yourself, fat, protein, nutrients. So you are CARNIVORE too.

All these videos about 21, 45 etc. voluntary fasting on youtube. Body is prepared for every possible life situation and all is only in your head.

Well explained. For me, absolute minimum carbs, veg and meat/dairy/eggs at meals, burn more calories than I consume, daily exercise, fasting without any food between meals, lots of water, an apple and an orange after breakfast and lunch, one cup of coffee after lunch is working like a charm. Importantly, the food I make tastes fantastic and since I go long periods without eating by the time I do sit down to a meal I'm hungry and and the food tastes better because of it. Enjoy life! It's not only about understanding all the science.

I have heart meds notorious for weight stalling and gain….heart attack just six months ago and dx heart failure…cannot exercise much….had been on keto, fasting and was losing 3-4 per month

I have a hypothesis! I watch a lot of Appalachian Trail hiking videos (2200 mile trail from GA to ME). The typical hiker eats a lot of ‘crap’ usually high in carbs, but the typical Male can loose 50 -100 lbs in a given hike. I hypothesize they are forcing their selves into Ketosis by exhausting the glycogen in their liver. However, sine they aren’t fat adapted they tend to burn up some muscle along the way (a high percentage of hikers talk about having an ammonia smell, which is a sign of burning protein). I should do a self test sometime.

This is what worked for me for burning belly fat very successfully:
1. 24 hour IM
2. Two hour Workout that includes HIIT
3. Very low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet
4. Calorie deficit
