This channel is part of the International Association of Facial Growth Guidance. A nonprofit organisation which aims to raise awareness of alternative orthodontic methods and ideas, which too few people are informed of.

The main aim of the platform is to precipitate debate on why teeth are crooked. Most people are not aware that (in most cases) the dental profession has little or no idea why the teeth are crooked, or for that matter why children need major surgery. Clearly there are genetic issues, however the science is clear, the weight of quality research papers, in respected peer reviewed journals, show that our modern lifestyle is a more important factor and most importantly we can do something about this.

This is especially important as sleep apnoea, TMD, forward head posture and a most otolaryngology problems are implicated as other symptoms of the same underlying problem.

This channel also acts as a forum to make openly, speculative suggestions, to find common ground with other professionals (in both related and seemingly unrelated fields), educated lay people and members of the public at large, to either support or detract on the information provided, but either way engage in the scientific process. In the pursuit of the truth it is normal in science to make speculative comments which may not have full scientific support, and we welcome feedback and discussion.

In general, the videos posted on this web site are not advertisements, and will clearly be labelled as such if necessary. Apart from educational books, the association does not sell anything or encourage anyone to have any form of treatment. It does aim to make people think, consider all options, ask questions and become fully informed.

The underlying pathology of malocclusion and the related symptoms is referred to as Craniofacial Dystrophy;

The association feels that it should be possible to prevent or at least minimise the level of craniofacial dystrophy through simple public health measures.

Hello Dr Mew i have some question here for you :

Mewing can change the eye area in young teens ?

What are the effect of chin tuck on cranofacial structure ?

Sleep with or without pillow ?

Side sleeping or back sleeping for facial growth

Can mewing fix TMJ ?

After 25 can we expect a lot of facial change ?

After 16 can we expect a lot of facial change ?

Hard mewing (slight pressure) vs Mewing (succion)

Why good swallow is good for the facial structure ?

And the more important what i can do for fix facial assymetry

Thank for responding Sir Mew 🙏

@orthotropics Dr. Mew have your heard of the documentary “Root Cause?” It has caused a fair amount of controversy recently in regards to the negative impact of root canals. My question is do you have any plans of making a documentary of a similar nature in regards to orthodontics/Orthotropics? I feel if more people became aware of you and your father’s work (as well as the findings of Dr. Weston A. Price) then greater changes could take place. The negative health impacts of poorly developed faces needs to be made KNOWN to the general public. Thank you for the hard work!

Hey Dr Mew I have a question:
Can mewing reduce an overbite?
I am 15 and I think the reason I have an overbite is due to a small jaw. Also where would you place your teeth if you have an overbite?

It is said that a slight overbite has to be kept and I have seen that then the teeth of my lower jaw push the front teeth. can that be detrimental in any way? And please explain the teeth position more in detail as we all have different shapes of teeth

Hi doctor Mew.
I have braces. Should I quit? Should I keep them and mew? What damage do braces cause? Is it less useful mewing after braces?
Thank you sir♥️

I got a question: should there be air in your mouth while mewing? I'm asking this question because I find difficult to swallow while my tongue is resting on the spot on the palat without touching my teeth. This is because of the air that I have to move in my mouth in order to swallow just my saliva and not the air. On the contrary, I noticed that if i put my tongue against my teeth in order to not have any air in my mouth I can swallow "properly" (with properly i mean being able to swallow without moving any facial muscle). I know that you shouldn't put your tongue against you teeth but if I don't do that swallowing becames really uncomfortable... I don't know what to do

Hey Dr.Mew heres a question.

I got a little jaw deviation from right to left where my lower jaw seems to be slightly shifted. Its been over 2 years where I've been wearing braces and elastics and it still remains a problem. Can mewing and good posture fix this?

what can i do to become able to breathe while mewing?i heared expanding the palate is helpfull is there something else i can do? im trying really hard to get something out of mewing but its just so hard if you cant breathe and you have to take a break after 20-30 seconds in order to breathe which i guess makes it way harder to maybe even impossible to get changes which is so depressing because i want it so bad :(

If you have an overbite or overjet, are you supposed to mew while your front (biting) teeth are slightly touching, or while your back (chewing) teeth are slightly touching?

Is it okay if I just do mewing and do the meal time exercise and not do extra chewing of gum because when I chew gum for long hours my cheeks get puffy(I seal my lips) and after long hours of chewing(Generally 1-2 hours) I don't feel good in general

In case of maloclusion (overbite) should one force the lower jaw to stand more forward so the front teeth be more aligned with the upper ones or remain in the natural wrong position while mewing?
