Want To Be Fit? Don't Go to The Gym

Unfortunately, corporate gym chains often prioritize profits over your best interests. Their primary goal is to generate revenue by selling memberships, and this can lead to a shift in focus. Instead of providing you with a tailored workout or training plan, they often offer a generic routine that is the same for everyone. Regardless of age or fitness level, individuals are given a standardized menu of exercises.

The major concern lies in the overemphasis on machine-based training schedules that promote sedentary behavior and isolated movements primarily geared towards bodybuilders. However, the reality is that the majority of people who visit a regular gym do not aspire to achieve a bodybuilder's physique.

It's important to clarify that this critique is not intended to bash gyms or strength machines. Both can be effective tools for improving fitness and overall health. Furthermore, if you genuinely enjoy using them, you're already on the right track. It's important to note that not all gyms are the same, and some do offer a variety of services and programs to cater to different individuals.

The overarching issue I'm addressing is the lack of personalized training programs provided to members or clients, which would optimize their investment of effort and time and yield the maximum benefits.

I come from a lot of years of bodybuilder lifestyle. Cardiovascular strength. This is exactly what I continue to lack. The meat head in me gets wrecked doing kettlebell work. I’m glad to be back to this lifestyle. Many thanks, Gregory!

I am a convert. It is a tremendous workout.
And you don't need 10 machines. I love how it has honed my body. Love your videos.
Thanks from Dallas.

Your experience with the 16kg KB reflexes exactly my own, when I had just stumbled over your channel a couple of months ago now, signed up for your free 30 days of kettlebells workout and started with my newly bought yellow kb.

I looked at my wife after the workout and said: “I thought I was fit… but I feel and look as if I’ve just participated in a 4 mile swimming competition!”
Keep up the gods work!

my medic in Iraq had a 16kg kettlebell back in 2006. I had trained with everything under the sun except a kb. he also had the DVD with Pavel which was hilarious. We packed it around in our Humvee and used it to swing away the low back pain after a long vehicle patrol. Then we ordered the next size up, which back then was the 24kg and we couldn't believe how hard it was to manage. 17 years later I am still loving it and have made it my main tool.

I was forced to give up the gym during the pandemic and took up kettlebell training. I have not been back to the gym since and have never felt better fitness-wise. The other problem with the gym is that you often take longer rests than you would like either swapping machines or queuing up for them when the building is busy. This means that you don't benefit from the intensity you get with from properly structured, follow along kettlebell workouts such as yours, Gregory. I'm definitely getting more bang for my buck training with KBs!

Kettlebells are a big part of my training even though I'm training pull-ups and push-ups right now.

Been a big fan of your videos for some time now. I've been using my kettlebell instead of the gym just because it's at home and easy to use. I leave it sitting beside the tv as a reminder to keep using it.

I go to a commercial gym because I do not have an appropriate year-round workout space at home. Not only does the gym have a room with lots of space they also have lots of cool toys like pullup bars, plyo boxes, a sled among others. That said I bring my own KBs cause the ones they have suck 😜

I am the kind of person that prefers to create my own trainingroutines.
When in the gym i do exercises i cant do at home and at home i do a mix of martial arts, callistenics and kettlebell exercises.

I exercise at home because I am willing to push myself harder. I'm not going to be at the gym dying out of breath, sweating like crazy and throwing my shirt across the room.
