The major concern lies in the overemphasis on machine-based training schedules that promote sedentary behavior and isolated movements primarily geared towards bodybuilders. However, the reality is that the majority of people who visit a regular gym do not aspire to achieve a bodybuilder's physique.
It's important to clarify that this critique is not intended to bash gyms or strength machines. Both can be effective tools for improving fitness and overall health. Furthermore, if you genuinely enjoy using them, you're already on the right track. It's important to note that not all gyms are the same, and some do offer a variety of services and programs to cater to different individuals.
The overarching issue I'm addressing is the lack of personalized training programs provided to members or clients, which would optimize their investment of effort and time and yield the maximum benefits.
