I'm happy to report that this case has come to a conclusion.

The concerned insurance firm i.e. ICICI Prudential Life Insurance launched an internal investigation after we highlighted the case on our YouTube channel and shared it with regulatory authorities.

Based on the findings of the inquiry, they decided to cancel the mis-sold insurance policy and refund the premium with interest to the client.

Summary of the case:

In August of 2017, this family's sole breadwinner passed away.

The family's responsibilities were quickly assumed by the son, and the daughter quickly stepped in to assist.

Employees from ICICI Prudential approached this family in 2021 and informed them about three insurance policies in which the deceased father had started investing in 2012 and had paid five years' premiums in all three policies until his expiration in 2017.

The family was unaware of the investment until they were told that the total value of the three policies would be 9 lakh rupees, which would be deposited in their account.

The branch manager, on the other hand, had other ideas, and instead of refunding the entire amount, he cleverly got the policy forms signed at the same time as the surrender forms.

Unbeknownst to the family, a total of 6 lakh rupees were diverted to the issuance of three new policies, each worth 2 lakh rupees, in the names of all three family members.

To get these policies, the income details of all family members were manipulated.

During the issuance of the new policies, no Pre Issuance Verification Call was conducted with any of the family members.

Since then, the family had been fighting to reclaim their funds, when Insurance Angels stepped in to assist them in their quest for justice.

And finally the company agreed to refund the premiums paid by the family with interest.
