"Honestly, I'm not looking to be happy - some days I'm miserable... but I'm interested. And that is worth living for."

What would your life look like if you lived true to yourself? If you lived for a greater purpose? What would it look like to live a fulfilling life? The Crazy Ones explores these questions and follows individuals who had the courage to find the answers.

In this episode we meet Tamer Shaaban, the writer and director of The Crazy Ones, who quit his job in computer science to pursue his filmmaking dreams.

This is what I’ve been looking for, people who still have a sense of adventure and who aren’t afraid of change.

I really thought this was going to turn into a car commercial.

I can't wait for this series. It sounds similar to what I did when I quit my job and left for Europe for three months to experience my dream. There were great days and miserable days, but each day had something new and exciting to offer. I learned more about myself and others in 3 months than I did in 28 years. I now understand that I still have weakness that I covered before leaving with stuff and strengths beyond words that were unrealized. The beauty is that I still remember every day even without the help of my journal. Travel and risking it made my world better.

To many it may seem a stupid decision, BUT because of his six-figure salary, he was able to obtain and save enough money to go ahead and pursue this dream... also, he can possibly always go back and get a job similar to his previous one. Not many people have this opportunity

You guys never cease to amaze me. The ideas you come up with, the things you film, the stories you tell: they're all so god damn real. Yes, that's the word. Real. You show us life and what it means to be alive. Y'all are fucking awesome.

Can't wait to see the stories to come! I can totally relate. Quit my job in 2015, had some revelations and events occur leading up to that. Decided to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, and haven't looked back since, it's so much more satisfying now. And yes, when you put yourself out there in places you'd never think you'd ever visit, you meet these people with amazing, inspiring stories which ultimately add to your imagination and possibilities. The Pacific Crest Trail restored my faith in humanity...I can't wait to see those stories Tamer finds on his journey.

There's a difference between pursuing your passion and being straight up lazy and depending on others. This man is pursuing and he's continuing to make himself happy.

Can’t tell you how much this video motivated me and how much I can relate.

I’m living in my car right now, far away from family and friends, not because I have to but because I CHOSE to, it’s a make it or die situation. My mother gave up on me when I decided to quit my “secure” job and pursue my dream, the ONLY family member I have left, it’s hard for me to describe how much that hurts, but it’s ok I’m used to it now. I have nothing more to lose, it’s going to take some time to achieve my dreams and goals, but I made a promise to myself, no matter what, I will keep going, I will not give up, and just like the day I left my family and everything behind 2 years ago, I won’t go back until the goal is reached.

I believe I’m one of those “crazy” ones out there. If one day, I can achieve my dream, hopefully you will feature me in one of your videos. See you on the other side brother.

I cant believe I just came across this video as it was posted...Clicked it because the title resonated with me AND saw that he happens to be in computer science. So am I. The synchronicity is real lately. I can relate to this though I’m still in college, so it was super inspiring. ✨

I'm about to quit my cushy corporate job and bought a one way ticket to South America to go travel across the continent as a solo female traveler for 9 months + to find my calling in the NGO, eco-tourism and travel spaces.

This is an incredibly well done video and resonates with me. My story is similar - six figure software engineering job in NYC, bored to death over monotonous routine, lack of fulfillment, and lack of creativity. Started making videos about the emptiness of 9-5 office life, one of which somebody sent to HR and got me fired. I'm grateful that it happened because if not for that I'm not sure how long I would've prolonged my suffering there, living just to save money. Right now I'm in Colombia, last week I was in Mexico. I'm a hell of a lot happier now than I've ever been. I've met so many interesting people over the last couple weeks, and every day is a new adventure. I honestly don't see myself ever going back to a standard 9-5 life unless out of absolute financial necessity.

Keep up the great work, stories like this are inspiring and remind us that we're not alone.

Now that's how to get me absolutely focused. The quality of expression in this video is beyond anything I see on YouTube. Thank you for making this.
