That’s so smart! I’ve never heard an artist address the fact that maybe the “art block” is actually an “emotional block”- this makes so much sense!

Something i like to do is also just to pick a character from the current show I'm watching at night, i have to pause it at a random time and draw the character. Its a great way of forcing yourself to draw different body types and appearances and draw something with a clear reference ❤

During inktober....prompts helped me with ideas. I challenged myself with only using pen. It was messy, but a sketch doesn't have to be clean, helped me relax. It was terrifying but fun. ❤

You could also try to finish old pieces or render sketches. That's what I do because it doesn't require much creative input to do lineart or colors once the sketch is done

For my part, whenever I have trouble figuring out what to draw, I switch to writing, or go over my notes, old drawings to find stuff that I can improve, implement, change, incorporate...BUT, sometimes it helps to just relax a bit, listen to music, watch a show, talk to somebody.

I'd add "draw something comfortable". Many of us have some kind of drawing or character or concept that we love to draw, specially if we didn't make it for a long time. Yesterday, I was a bit depressed and I couldn't make any advance on a commission, then I drew Goku as I used to do when I was younger, felt better inmediately.

Good advice!

Had art block for 2 years now, I'm moving to go to university in September so I'm hoping the (very) drastic change in scenery and people helps. Kind of been in a weird transition period between school and figuring out what I want to do with life so...yeah.
I've started working on a worldbuilding project again that I've had mulling about in my head for 5 years, too, so maybe I can finally get that done too XD

i’ve had art block for a couple years now. everytime i try to go back to it, i just stare at my art supplies and i don’t know what to do. and then i give up and go to sleep.

Also another thing that helped me is....draw hands, noses, eyes....say 30 or 50 times, in different positions...

I've got a good few more for you. The biggest being, go copy a piece off of pinterest that you like. Maybe do it in your style, maybe try to fully duplicate it, either way, you will learn and feel accomplished which will motivate you to try what you learned.

I suggest stay soft. Bevel and soften corners. I became really sharp when i tried too hard and became mentally ill and was diagnosed crazy.
