One reason I keep coming here is 1- your videos are great and I learn a ton!! 2- because you are not a slicked up talker, it is more like I am just sitting around yakking with my buddies about fishing! If I was to use a "marketing term" it would be that you are "authentic" and that scores high with me! As always great video!

Hey Tyler,
To echo what others noted, the way you 'chat' to to the camera is one of the big reasons I love learning from you. Even when you may feel like you are struggling for the right words, you do a great job conveying the lesson to us...and I appreciate it. Love this new channel!

you are doing just fine, more than fine, with your presentations, ... we all lose words here and there when discussing things we are passionate about
keep up the good work your are doing, appreciate your dedication, dilligence and educating your fellow fishermen. TYVM

I'm in FL and have caught most of my bigger fish around 2pm, even bright, sunny days. There's less water to fish, like you're saying. Under a little bush, under a dock, under an over hanging tree branch.... I have had the same experience. One other good couple spots around that time is in eel grass or under mats.

A young guy who loses words... priceless. At almost 69, that makes me feel younger, thank you. I used to live in the Columbus area and knew a lot of great fishing spots. After retirement, almost 12 years ago, I now get to fish more during the day. I'm going somewhere here; working in Columbus from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday, morning and evening was the time to go, and although weekends afforded afternoon fishing, what I knew as hot spots were over crowded. So... now I get to fish all day long if I want to, and because of that, I've learned that my biggest fish are in that time frame you speak of. I live and fish in Southern Ohio, mostly small creeks. There's nothing like fishing with no one around weekdays and weekends. That's hard to do in large metro areas.

No doubt fish cruise shallow water in the morning & evening so they are easier to catch if you fish then. But to catch them at other times you just have to follow them. They will always eat if the opportunity presents itself. The moral of my comment is just go fishing and enjoy figuring it out.

the summer and peak of the sun, the fish seem to be very predictable. You know they're gonna be in shade pockets and the shade pockets are a lot smaller because the high sun. I think that's what you're saying and I totally agree.

I 💯 % agree on that 1-3. Some patience and finesse on those narrow shadows have got me plenty of nice fish.

They always put the major and minor times to fish during the weather on the local news and I've noticed something about that, the best days with 3 and 4 stars are always between 10 and 2 day and night. I used to really go by that alot, but let me tell you it's crap! From my experience it's just like Tyler said, they usually bite early shallow and then by say 9 am they start slowly moving out to the mid range depths and then by 12-3 they either go deep or go for shade or cover. Then by 4 til dark they start moving back in shallow again. You can catch them all day if you understand what they are doing bc they will bite all day long if you can follow them

I’ve noticed this too. I catch more numbers in the morning but the better bites are normally during the early to mid afternoon. Greatly enjoy the channel and the information you put out. Thanks and keep it coming.

Tyler… I just want to let you know how much I enjoy this new channel and format. Many times I don’t have time to dive into a long video so this is very useful and to the point. That being said I look forward to some longer videos on the HQ channel as well when more time is needed to cover a topic. Would love to see what you have to offer for bank fishermen as well! Take care…

My 3 biggest bass have all been in the afternoon right around that 1-3pm range! Then all the other big ones have been in the evening. I don’t fish the morning a ton, as I haven’t had much luck with big ones yet first thing in the morning.

I would agree. Expand that time frame to 12-3 and it applies to all fish in my experience. I’ve caught the most 4-5lb bass, 11lb trout, 20-25lb salmon Al within that time table

Would agree on that 1 to 3 afternoon bite, caught a 3.5 lb large mouth out of a pond at 2 yesterday on whopper plopper, Chicago IL

Pretty good.
Ohio here.
7am - 11:30 am trolling for crappie/walleye.
Leave at 12 noon.
Sometimes the bite kicks off again around 1pm.
But since cooler is always full and fish have to be

Always learn something from you Tyler
Always
On a <600 acre lake walking distance from my home
Have a shore access area of lilly pads that parallels the south side of the shore line of a very prominent point that the entire time from when the lilly pads get established in the late spring till September I will catch a minimum of 2-3 bass on a frog or a popper fished on pad edges or larger openings
The depths I catch these bass from is best educated guess from about 18" to about 5-6'.
Some days under ideal conditions Ill catch 6-8 bass largest are <5lbs but lost two last year that IMO were 6+
But here is the catch
I have fished this spot which the point runs dead east from the shore from an hour before sun up till sunset and I only catch bass the first 2 hours after dawn and the last 120-150 minutes before sun set and the bass action is absolutely the best from when the sun drops below the tree tops behind me till twilight
The sun dropping below and being blocked by the tree tops is literally as if someone flippes a switch on the bass and if the weather conditions are good the bass just murder my frog and popper
But
Once twilight sets in the action abruptly stops same as if you flip off a light switch
This has been constantly true for all four years since I discovered this spot
As I am a shore fisherman I do not have the massive advantage of electronics so I don't if the bass are there all day and do not react to my luers till the correct times or do the bass move in during sun up and before sunset and then leave
I will admit I have never used fishing soft plastics or jigs in these same lilly pads during non target times to see if there are any resident bass who just wont hit a frog or popper but I plan on doing so this year. The pads and grass are so thick only options for fishing in the pads other than a frog would be a T-riged soft plastic maybe a jig
I didn't last few years because I didn't own a adequate setup to fish soft plastics in extreamly heavy cover but I do now.

I caught my PB in June on a TX reservoir around 1pm. It was scorching hot out and caught her off a brush pile right next to ledge.
