I Bought a Retina MacBook Pro for $350

This is a 13" Late 2013 MacBook Pro, and I picked this one up for just $350. For a MacBook Pro under $400, this thing kills. For students, writers, or people looking for a cheap macbook for productivity tasks, this works very well. While I wouldn't expect you will be able to find a cheap MacBook Pro that costs this little, these late 2013s can be found for about $550 pretty reliably, which isn't too bad for a Retina MacBook Pro

Apologies for the re-upload. It was pointed out to me that the spec text was missing (sometimes Final Cut exports don't go smoothly) so I reuploaded with them in. Also this video looks pretty terrible so I apologize for that. I'll be working on my quality for next video.

I got an early 2013 13" rMBP for $220. Seller didn't know the value of it. Casing was slightly warped, had to straighten it out a little. Hinge screws were loose...I tightened those. Put a new bottom panel on, cleaned it up, and now it's my daily machine. Not bad for $220.

Just picked up a mid-2012 MBP for $40. Needed a new charger and threw in a 240gb SSD and the total cost was around $170 for a MacBook pro with an i7 and 8gb of ram :)

I paid $300 for my 2015 a1502 the screen suffered badly from staingate and it had no SSD. I upgraded my 2014 rMBP 15" to a 512gb faster ahci SSD. And installed the 256gb ssd into the 2015 rMBP. I also had it sent away fro the quality service program, and it has a new screen now. The computer is in great shape and I spent overall $540 on the whole project.

Having a late 2013 Retina myself I can say that the (real) ThinkPads have WAY better keyboards... But Display, TrackPad and macOS makes the MacBook more adorable..

Just picked up the 8gb 256gb model of this MacBook pro for $199 NZD, just needed to replace the battery and she's running like new. Couldn't be happier. Can't believe it runs big sur.

I found a Mint condition late 2014 13” Retnia MBP 8/256 loaded with MS Office and Final Cut Pro for $650. It’s been a excellent daily system. Thanks for your tips as I was able to put them to use for this MBP on eBay!

Wow. I think you got a better deal than I got on a Retina MBP. I got a Late 2012 13" one with a 2.5 ghz i5, 8gb, and a 128gb ssd for only $300. The only problems with it were some slight delamination, a few bright pixels (not noticeable under normal use), and high battery cycles (I got it with 718). I used the laptop for around 8 months (put around 60 cycles on it) and sold it for $460.

This is an entry level model. No, its not for video editing or intensive gaming. But for every day tasks and web browsing, it would fill the bill. Apple’s Retina version of the A1278. I wouldn’t pay $600 for one though. Its main drawback is its limited RAM, which is in marked contrast to the higher tier models.

Just bought it and love this computer,
I don't get why people buy 2018 computers.
This computer is mid 2012 and it got 16 gb of rams and intel core 15
Very good for editing and browsing

The machine you have is (almost) the machine I have used since mid 2013 (mine has 8Gb RAM as I ordered and royally paid for). It is under my fingers, and has served me well for four and a half years. I'm not sure you're 100% accurate with the 4Gb limitation on this machine. I never upgraded, it has 8Gb from the factory. The fan spins up when using Firefox, but not Safari or Chrome. It runs many dozens of virtual instruments and effects in Logic Pro X, it flawlessly meets my needs and will do for another 2.5 years I guess. These machines tend to last around seven years before upgrading ... makes financial sense (new purchase). By my experienced and educated guess, you've purchased a laptop with at least 2.5 years painless future for $350. Nice purchase. It would have been more fun if you'd paid lots more and had half a decade of flawless use ... but I figure you've already got that covered outside the bounds of this YT channel. Cheers m8.

I got mine a month after you. Its in incredible condition and I got the 256gb SSD with 8gb RAM and 2.4ghz intel i5 5th gen model for 280!! found it on facebook for 350$ and I offered 250$ they said 280 was the lowest they would go. I'm typing on it right now. I found the same model on eBay for roughly 800$

I have the same MacBook pro retina which I bought directly to users in 2015 for $700 in perfect condition like new. And I have successfully upgraded to the cheapest M.2 NVME SSD this week.

I just bought one off ebay for $400! 8GB ram, i5, and 256BG memory! There's a bit of cosmetic damage, but for the specs and it being a rMBP, the price is not half bad. I'll just put a case on it to cover the dent.
