Norse Paganism is NOT a closed religion! There‘s no arguments for this claim! And I won’t ever stop speaking up about it. No matter your heritage, skin color, sexuality, gender identity or whatever… you’re welcome in Norse Paganism as long as you approach it with respect ❤️

It is extremely arrogant of humans to think experiences with the gods are restricted to a specific race of people. The gods will call whoever they feel is necessary. Are we really to believe the gods are going to hold themselves to arbitrary standards of skin or eye color?

While yes this is true, cultural appropriation is still a thing. This is still me and the rest of my people’s heritage and culture. PoC have every right to practice, but the issue lies in them appropriate things like the runes or practicing our customs without respect or inviting people into the faith who don’t have respect

This is my gripe with the whole thing. My struggles with Odin because of this. I am a person of color. Latina from Florida. Odin comes in during the winter and I enjoy my alone time with him… but when something racist happens, I look at him like 👀 (I told you). He understands my trepidations.

I myself am of all European descent. Years ago I decided to take mushrooms and recite mantras to a certain god worshipped in Hinduism which resulted in my first “face to face” encounter with a god. But when the god showed up he looked EXACTLY like a famous depiction of a Celtic god (who ruled over the same exact things as the god who’s mantra I was repeating) on a certain artifact found in Denmark. Moral of the story is the gods are not bound to any one particular culture but I think he showed up in this guise to show me that my ancestors worshipped him, though not by the same name, they still worshipped him. This was at a time I still felt uncomfortable using Hindu mantras as a European and imo the god knew this and wanted to teach me a valuable lesson.

I'm mexican, still learning about norse paganism, I'm pretty new and it was kind of a shock knowing there was a racial thing going on

I am Hungarian. I was told no by multiple times - I am basically now spiritually homeless. I do not connect to any deity or entity to not offend anyone.

So true! I’m mixed Swedish, Indian and Portuguese and I practice norse paganism among other things in the other traditions in which I belong. Sure, it’s part of my heritage, but nonetheless it’s open for all and everyone. Appreciating that you’re shedding some light on this ❤

Hello! I am interested in progressing in my journey in the religion of Norse Paganism, and I have a question. So far, I am connected to Loki and Fenrir (there could be more I have yet to discover). I have began rituals and worship to them, but I need help. Is it okay to be a Norse pagan who worships Loki and Fenrir, and the elements? Thanks :)

If the Gods are real, then they are real for everyone.

The people gate keeping this religion is ridiculous. We must take notes from the Christians and help as many people as possible convert to norse Paganism. we can leave the killing of millions out though I think we are better then that.

It not about race but having Scandinavian blood make the connection stronger for your ancestors just like the Latinos and Latinas that are on this page a beautiful culture you guys are descendants from Mayan and Aztec if I were to go and try to follow the ways of the Mayans or the Aztecs knowing that I'm white as snow I would get backlash. because of it

Accept it. Paganism is tied to the cultures of the indo european groups that practiced the faiths.

If you don’t have Northern European heritage, then Norse Paganism isn’t for you. It’s as simple as that. You should follow the traditions and customs of your own people and ancestors from the lands from which they/you came.

Lmao, no Norse/Germanic Paganism is exclusively for Germanic People. indo European religion split up in multiple branches, but always has a strong connection to its people.
