You can actually read genesis literally. I am now working on a 17th century character who is reading the Staten Bijbel, the official Dutch bible in the mid 17th century. By just reading the text of Genesis 1 and 7 and make drawings, think logical and with a bit of worldly knowledge and imagination this person can do predictions that scientist have uncovered in later centuries. It is a really fun project to work on.

Using BCE instead of BC is denial of Christ in my opinion, but disregarding my prejudice on that after Tyler's opening statement I'll try and have an open mind while I listen to the rest. 😆

Great debate, very civil and informative.
One point to Tyler in respect to the "solar week" ....
The reason we have to correct the calendar with leap year (ultimately) is because of the GREAT FLOOD!

Before that, the solar calendar did " precisely line up", and it's evidenced in Genesis by calculations from texts in respect.

Im Genesis, the flood began on the 17th day of the 2nd month in (7 : 11) and was over by the 17th day of the 7th month (8:4). That makes 5 months of 30 days duration EACH (5x30=150), which Genesis stresses by adding the day-count of 150.

Five months in the "modern" (actually ancient) Jewish calendar would have been either of 147 or 148 days' duration, depending on whether the 5-month period began on a 29-day or a 30-day month.

IMO, it's absolutely evidence for a 7 day literal week of creation. Not that it is a nail in the coffin or anything, just it's definitely a piece of evidence for a younger Earth.

Last CJ, it's highly unlikely Jesus was born on December 25th.
In terms of actual scriptural evidence/calculations from the book of Luke with respect to John's conception is what I would argue is a good piece of scriptural evidence to the contrary.

I won't go into atm because I have already made a long post, and I am sure you are aware of said argument/objection.

I did watch your video on why you think Jesus was/could have been born on the 25th of December, and my proof is the fact you are a Taurus (albeit barely) makes a lot of sense 😀

Why didn’t this debate center on exegesis of the relevant texts in Genesis? I doubt Tyler Vela would be able to exegete Genesis well by relying on his view.

The Light on day One was the conception of the plan of Jesus. He is the Light. The Beginning and later He fulfilled this plan which is the ending.

Is Genesis historical? How many non-Biblical Literalist accept this? How many non-Biblical Literalist Historians write papers, articles, and books on the Historical narrative of Genesis being true?
