The moon and sun is not light, They are sources of light, light is light, saying the moon and sun is light is like saying the fan is is wind, or the tap is water, ask the Holy spirit for explanation, He speaks

God came tonme twice in my sleep to tell me my mission. He was larger than my two story house and i didnt see a form only a bright light and Thundering voice. I had fear in his presence until he said " Stop it is I" and then i had peace to listen the fear disappeared as soon as i heard him. Yet i fear the Lord but he commanded the fear away so i could hear. Amen. I Love you God 🙏

I am a fellow Christian. But please, review your reasoning. God might be light, but His shine is Not what diferenciates "day" from "night" and Genesis categorically says that the light made would separate "day" from "night" ... So, NO.... God's own splendor was Not what separated the days from the nights on the three first days. At least Not according to Genesis. Moreover God is Not "sometimes light" and "sometimes darkness", nor was HE "present" and then "absent" for 12hrs during those days so that it could be the first "3 days" and "3 nights". (Respectfully disagree)

In game development you have to write the code for light first and then the object which will emit it.

A deeper question is: “If the sun was created after the Earth was formed, what did the Earth “rotate” around before the sun?”

Cuz Jesus is the Word and the Light ....In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God!

I’ve said this once, I’ll say it again. While we may only be able to be shown snippets of God’s Providence and Power, not having an exact explanation to this question is not a bad thing. One thing I’ve come to accept is that God spoke light into existence. In His Glory he then fashioned light that comes from planetary and cosmic bodies to fashion His order, and for our structure (time). Light was also present before the sun was created in and of that purpose for God’s glory. Why? To keep us from worshipping the sun. And that last bit I hold tightly to because that’s what MANY nations were doing. Idolizing the creature/creation. What a marvelous and infinitely wise God we serve. He spoke light into existence, and for good measure, made the sun afterwards just so we know and revere that HE IS GOD AND GOD ALONE.

What's scary is that we can't fathom what God is because of how infinite he is. This has always freaked me out

If God is Light, then why did he have to take a day and create light? Did he create himself?

Your right there is no need of other light if he is the light

This past October I saw the lights from an Ophanim angel, it reflected off of its rings onto the clouds, but the angel itself was invisible. Bright holy light.

In the new creation there will be no need for the luminaries, for the LORD God and the Lamb are the light!

What about the night of that 1st to 3rd day of creation, since theres no darkness in God, does it mean the light that came from God has limimiteation in terms of scope of its light..

In the whole universe there are mainly three kinds of light:

The natural light: the sun and the moon, created by God.

The artificial light: the man-made light, the light man makes to have some sort of light.

The spiritual light, God Himself as light, the genuine light and the source of all light

Remember always walk in the light of God!

So if God is light, and if God was not created, why did he had to command to "let there be light", even having to go as far as to seperate the light (in that case himself) from the darkness?

I always understood that the first chapter of Genesis is supposed to be metaphorical and a poetic way of explaining GOD creating everything. It’s not meant to be taken literally.

I don't understand why people have to question the word of God if God said there was light. There was light.
