Strain Gauge Installation Tutorial: Part 4

In this final part for the Strain Gauge Installation Tutorial, we show the final steps, taken to protect the strain gauges.

Firstly, put a piece of mastic on top of the strain gauged area. Pin the connectors into the mastic, and add the connecting wires (supplied in a kit), pushing them into the mastic. Add more mastic on the back of the wires to protect them.

Then, cut a piece of neoprene rubber of a similar size as the mastic and place it on top. You can cover the area with a piece of aluminium tape, to keep everything in place before putting on a transmitter.

That's it! All done.
