The ANTI-AGING HACKS To Reduce Chronic Inflammation & LIVE LONGER | Dr. Mark Hyman

It is crucially important to take steps (even small ones) daily to support your immune system and inflammation levels—so you can live longer, better. Unfortunately, our modern diets and lifestyles have created an environment of chronic inflammation, or “inflammaging.” While inflammation itself is life saving and extremely important in acute situations, inflammaging can cause significant issues.

In today’s episode of my series I’m calling Health Bites, I am talking all about inflammaging and how this continual, low-grade inflammation becomes the root of many, if not all, chronic conditions.

This episode is brought to you by Mitopure and Athletic Greens.

I just got my lipid panel back. I went from 312 total cholesterol 2 years ago to 203 a week ago, they just called with my results. I asked the nurse what my trigliceride number was and she DID NOT KNOW. I asked what my PSA number was and she DID NOT KNOW. BUT....she said multiple times during the call the doc wants to put me on a statin....Inside I was furious. I lowered my cholesterol by 33% just by changing my diet (and not at all strict, just cut way back on sugar and breads). What is infuriating is I know modern medicine has turned into a money making machine, but when it's so blatant that all they want to do is get me on their drugs, I have to find another doc.

This was so excellent - I will listen to this several times, write down your recommendations - THANK YOU, Doc. I do take Vitamin D3 with K2, along with fish oil, and my Vitamin D blood test is now up to 55 (it used to be in the teens) -- Deb from NJ

We’re not supposed to consume another animal’s milk. Learned that from my second son who is allergic to milk eggs and grains. He was allergic to corn, wheat, spelt, rye, etc. I started having the same reactions when I hit 50 yrs of age. Apparently, this is genetic but I was exposed since I was little. I have extreme inflammation in my hands during the holidays bc I take in sugar and white flours in cookies. The real answer is observing our body’s reactions to any thing bc we’re not all the same. I do sleep now which I never did in my life. I have increased my immunity bc of the sleep I get now.

thanks again @drmarkhyman - agree with the points raised - though I'm in the process of learning more about oxalates.

From what I've learnt, some of the foods recommended in the presentation are very high/high etc in oxalates

- any comments on this (in context)?

What do you think about Dr. Anthony Chaffee's interview with Sally K. Norton? And her new book "Toxic Superfoods"? I eat a Keto-Vore diet these days which includes a small amount of veg.

Gave it a thumbs up, but I'm not sure about nuts/seeds being anti-inflammatory? Certainly apple seeds and cherry 'seeds' aren't. Seems most seeds wouldn't want to be crushed and chewed. What is the difference in raw, sprouted, roasted?? I heard that it is illegal to sell raw cashews; they must all be heat treated otherwise they are toxic. So even 'Raw' cashews from the store have been heated to remove toxic compounds, but not roasted.

All dairy products are not created equal. Glass of milk is not the same as fermented milk and cheese from pasture raised milk. High quality protein and lactic acid bacteria.

Mr Hyman, thanks for the info. Your eyes show signs of selenium deficiency, sir. Maybe increase consumption

I found that grass fed dairy stopped all of my inflammation from dairy. We have to remember the issue is tied to 2 things, our genetics and what the animal eats. If you are a brown person like me, or from more southern areas of europe, you have gentics for dairy consumption passed on from genghis khan. Fun fact: Dairy tolerance is actually the reason they were so effective in warfare. They could drink mares milk so there was no need to transport large food supplies and they were able to travel much faster because of it. So there's some fun history for you.

Also, if the animal is eating grain, their milk will be much higher in omega 6, whereas animals fed grass and hay have milk that is much higher in omega 3, which reduces inflammation. Ive also found pasture raised eggs helped me a lot as well, and i think its for the same reason.

I know this stuff is pretty expensive, but ive found that aldi has knockoff kerigold cheese and butter for dirt cheap, and im getting pasture raised eggs for $4 a dozen there. So im able to buy grass fed products for the same price as the regular stuff in other grocery stores. Another tip, i go to the amish market every few months and buy whole grains in bulk. They usually sell older heirloom grains in bulk at super cheap prices, so if you have an amish market in your area, i would check them out. I can get whole oat groats and buckwheat and really good flour that is from heirloom wheat.

You are not what you ate. What that animal ate is what you ate. What nutrients/minerals that vegetable absorbed is what you ate. Broccoli may send nutritious but if it’s sprayed with pesticide or the soil it grew in was stripped of vital nutrients or micro flora, then…….
