Happy pride month my friends!

I didn't really know what to write here at first, but then I decided to write down some stuff that I wish someone had said to me a year ago.

You are not confused, broken or fake, or looking for attention in the slightest. You are you. And the best person to know you the best, to know who you are and who you love is only yourself. Not your family, friends, people around you or online. Only you. You are loved, you are beautiful just the way you are, you are important. You are still the same person you've always been, you are still the same sibling, child, grandchild, best friend, partner, and your gender identity and who you love is not going to change that.

You don't need to be out to other people to be valid and be a part of this wonderful LGBTQIA+ community. The process of coming isn't only about sharing your identity with others, it is a journey. Journey of self-acceptance and understanding, a journey of self-definition and discovery. And I feel like this is the true beauty in coming out. And If you haven't found a label under which you would fit, that is totally okay, and honestly, you don't even need one. Try not to care too much about society's obsession with labels. What matters the most is that you are a person capable of love. I know how comforting it is to finally feel like a label or identity is right for you, and how isolating it can feel to not fit into a select identity, but you are not alone, and you will get there someday. At whichever point you are in your journey, your are valid.

Remember that, when you decide to come out to somebody, a friend, family, partner, you don't owe anybody a proof of your identity, any explanations, your dating history and experiences. And also remember that you will find a safe space full of supportive people if you haven’t already. Things might not be exactly how you want them to be right now, but I promise, they'll improve.

Growing up with a homophobic and transphobic family where genuine support is sparse hurts like hell, but playlists like these help remind me that there are communities, comment sections, beautiful caring people out there who are here to give support and love that I would never have experienced. I hope all of you are taking care of yourselves, drinking your water eating some good food that makes you feel happy, and wearing what you love most. I have unofficially declared today "boxxing gay" like boxxing day but for pride month(for anyone outside Canada boxxing day is the day after christmas morning where we eat leftovers, clean up from the dinner and gift carnage from the day before, try out our gifts from the day before, and all-around keep celebrating but in a lowkey way .p.s the tree stays up basically mid january) For me July 1st is "canada day" but i like boxxing gay better.💙
