I view a "gentleman" as a man capable of being very rough, but choosing to be a man that is "gentle", in act.

Those last 10 seconds...
*„Practical approach for developing your shadow fundamentally is radical honesty and Jung said genuine moral effort is a good substitute for psychotherapy.“*
Priceless.

In 5 months of watching Jordan Peterson in the office (we're allowed to watch youtube), I've gone from being totally useless and pathetic resentful lost male all my life to an employee of the month, winning at most domains in my life and projected towards a journey of meaning. I cannot thank this man enough. I wish to shake his hand someday. Thank you very much Mr. Peterson, we can say that you somehow saved me from at least a decade of more darkness in my life.

In a year I've gone from casually watching Jordan's videos to becoming an acolyte of the great sorter.

“It’s really useful to be dangerous...” Quite true

"It's weak men, generally, who rape." Ya, always thought so. Same with bullies. I always liked John Wayne, there's a man who knew who he was. He didn't have to cut off anyone else's head to feel taller.

"Blessed are the 'praoi' (πραοι), for they will inherit the earth"
The greek word 'praos' means he who has a calm demeanor without anger blow-ups. It has a huge difference with the english word 'meek' which means calm&submissive. It is quite similar with the 'ataraxia' (imperturbability) of the stoics, meaning being in a state of no trepidation regardless of the circumstances.

From my experience working with at-risk youth. I've learned that calculated violence can do a lot of good and being nice and gentle can get people hurt. When you see potential violence you need to shut it down hard. And you'll notice that people will not only respect you more, because you created a place where people feel safe.

"It's often weak men who rape." Very true, and also largely destroys the Feminist notion of "toxic masculinity." Because it's typically not the intimidating, manly men who need to be worried about.

it's about accepting your shadow and using it as a compass rather than controlling it. let your shadows impulses guide you, what you do not like about yourself or others if projected tells you a lot about yourself. use it, don't ignore it. ignorance feeds problems, never solves them.

TLDR Without truly knowing your capacity for evil you cannot understand your capacity for virtue

6:00 This brings to mind a saying "nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength."

I learnt to use my dark side when things had gone miserably wrong for me. It was about adapting to the environment at that time. Getting through a single day was equal to a war that lasted a decade.

I honestly can’t go back to what I used to be. A pathetic people pleaser, who didn’t speak up against tyranny.

Now it’s a journey about fusing both the light and the dark side as one. Bringing out the best in me.

Like Palpatine used to say to anakin
"To master the force you must study all it's aspect...not only the dogmatic and narrow view of the JEDI!"

wise word
