If you’re used to a stylus without batteries like the Surface Pro Pen or Wacom Pen, then you probably think it’s inconvenient that the Apple Pencil needs to be charged. But there are reasons for this that'll I'll explain in this video.

With the second generation Apple Pencil, it's not really a compromise if you can just slap it conveniently to the side of the iPad.

I'd hardly call it inconvenient. Most devices we use these days are rechargeable, and it's getting to be second nature to recharge them. Plus, the charge lasts for a very long time, so it's not as though we need to top the pencil up every day. The original pencil came with an adapter so you could charge it with a regular lightening cable and not have to plug it into the iPad, which is my preferred method. Keep the great content coming!

Samsung S-pen: *Am I a joke to you?*

Samsung made s-pen for Note series, with no need for charging, and still small enough to slide into the phone itself. *the s-pen wirelessly charged inside the phone, to accomodate air actions, not for drawing/writing

This is just... Not true about Wacom's tech making both the stylus and the tablet so "bulky"? Samsungs S Pens use Wacom's EMR tech and they are thinner and lighter than the Apple pencil and do not need to be charged (unless you're using Air actions) and Samsung's tablets and s pen compatible laptops are also very thin while using Wacom's tech. The reason Wacom's pens are bulky is because that makes them way more ergonomic than the styluses of Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, Hawei, etc.. and since their drawing tablets are used by professional artists who spend hours upon hours drawing on that thing, these things need to be sturdy. No one would forgive wacom if their tablet bended or cracked. Please check your facts before making videos about other companies tech other than apple

There are thousands of ppl who use to play games like osu on wacom tablets where you need minimal latency. I feel that the latency point he made was a bit invalid. Moreover it's the apple pencil which has a greater delay when using it. Bluetooth is always slower than the former no matter how good the software is.

Wacom pens feel more natural to me because the tablet surface was designed for drawing first, whereas the iPad was designed for fingers first. Although Apple has gotten scarily close to splitting the difference.

Apple Pencil 1 wasn’t really that bad at charging, just connect the cable and plug into say a MacBook type-c charger and before you know it, it’s fully charged and for a pinch if out and about no outlet one use the iPad to charge it super quick, we’re the Pencil 2 can only be charged by the iPad so if using the iPad and your pencil 2 needs charging your stuck with a pencil 2 stuck to your iPad while using it kind of inconvenient than the pencil 1 we’re it could be somewhere else plugged into an outlet charging

The Surface Pen has multiple batteries in it. There is an AAAA battery in the barrel and two (maybe 4….it’s been awhile since I had my Surface) watch cell batteries in the top for the button.

I'm sorry but your claims are wrong!! The Samsung Spen uses Wacom technology and has a similar 9ms response rate (same as apple pencil) and it's said they'll have a 4ms one in the near future. In addition to that the Samsung spen had always a button allowing many feature and all without using Bluetooth.
These are facts.

I dunno the sources but I think you are wrong about the reasons you gave for the Wacom pen. There are thin Wacom EMR pens even thinner than the Apple pencil like the S-pens in the Samsung Note series or Steadtler Norris Digital or Mitsubishi stylus. Apple pencil doesn't have lower latency either as compared to Wacom EMR pens. Love your videos and explanations but this video is completely wrong

Hm, the S Pen also has 9ms latency.... With wacom Technology. It's also thin as the Apple pencil.

Actually, the Surface Pen used to take a AAAA (insert Dankpods voice here) battery! Now it wireless charges off the type cover or the surface itself I think

That’s absolutely dope. Just goes to show how much thought and and effort gorse into these products we use on a daily basis 🔥🔥

Because otherwise it would run out of battery 😂 That’s one way to say it

i have both wacom tablet and apple pencil and i'm gonna disagree about wacom pen, it has same latency as apple pencil, and even less latency if you use tablet via usb connection.

uuuhm, there‘s a battery in the surface pro pen, an AAAA battery right in the top lol

This is such an odd question to ask. Considering what the Apple Pencil can do, of course it’ll need to be powered!

Even the first gen Apple Pencil (the one I use) doesn’t take that long to charge. I got from 5%-90% in 5 minutes. The second gen gets better with like 15 seconds of charging for half an hour
Edit: ingish
