My dad has brown eyes and my mom had green eyes.. 2/3 of us kids born w true blue eyes and the other has brown. It’s a recessive trait indeed.

People dont understand the groups just mean common or rare. Dominant and Recessive are NOT as in the Webster Dictionary. And the slap in most faces is all the gene variants are within the Recessive Category, mapping all Evolutionary events. There is no Evolution in the Common or titled Dominant.
If Superman was born he would be placed in the Recessive, yet it clearly would recess back to an older less evolved state. When we say Recess, it is not referencing that said gene is recessive, it means it is probable to Recess into a Devolution back to Common.🤣

Both my parents both have green eyes and my brother has brown eyes. So I think eye color is a bit more complicated than “green is dominant to blue but recessive to green”… my brother looks exactly like my dad different coloration (he’s ginger, olive toned, and brown eyed, my dad is fair skinned, green eyed and black hair).

I have tricolored central heterochromatic eyes of blue, gray-green, and amber - which is said to be only a small minority of people with central heterochromia, let alone with gray amber - and yet my daughter and husband are also grey-eyed central heterochromatic… our son has pure blue eyes - which is the same as most of my husband’s side of the family.
