The chart below shows the changes in the ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent during housework in households in one country between 1920 and 1990. The chart illustrates the proportions of households with electrical devices and the number of weekly hours spent on household chores per household in a specific country from 1920 to 2019. 对吗

Hey lilie, nice to see you again. In the graph below - household = washing clothes, preparing meals, cleaning, is it important or not?

Can I say that, the numbers of hours spent on housework Hovered between 1960 and 2019. but of course I cannot say that the number essentially unchanged at this period?

Thanks for your sharing, but I have a wonder. When you described about the figures of refrigerators, why did you omit the data from 2000. I think it should be included. I hope that you respond me soon.

The first line chart illustrates the percentage of household who own different types of electrical appliances (Washing Machine, Refrigerator & Vacuum Cleaner). The second chart shows the hours per week spent for house work. Both charts are shown the results from 1920 to 2019 in one country.

Overall, it is seen that with time, the use of electrical appliances increased whereas the number of hours of housework per week decreased. Here, house work includes washing clothes, preparing meals & cleaning only

In 1920, near about 2% of houses have refrigerators. After 4 years, it took the top position by achieving 90%, that later gained 100% in 1980 and continued the rest of the year.

In contrast, the washing machine started with 40%, which was the height that time that slightly increased till 1960 and reached at 70%. Next, 20 years it decreased slightly to approximately 62%, then climbed slowly till 2019 to almost three quarters. The remaining one vacuum cleaner was owed by 30% of household at the beginning and escalated up to 100% flowing a state line in 2000. Remaining year, it remained stable at the top with refrigerator.

On the other hand, it takes so many hours per week for doing housework. These hours came down to 20 hours 1960 without any flactuation. Following the falling trend, it declined slowly to almost 10% in 2019, where 1980 to 2000 it maintained a stable hours approximately 15 hours for housework per week.

Hi Ms. Lilie,

I truly appreciate the time you invest in sharing a wealth of knowledge and providing valuable feedback. I would like to inquire about a learning strategy for the writing test. Typically, after watching your videos, I rewrite the essays two or three times and make small notes of new vocabulary. However, I often find that when I attempt to write again the next day, I struggle to remember the exact structure. Could you kindly provide some suggestions to help me overcome this issue?

Thankyou !

Thanks for your video. I have learned at school that I must not omit the word "the percentage" throughtout the essay like you did and replace by "the proportion" or "the rate". After watching this video, I was confused. Please help me how to use these words flexibly or how we can omit it in a better way. Thank you once again ^^
