This was sooo helpful!! I have an appointment with a TMJ specialist Tuesday but I was trying to write down my symptoms and I have been overwhelmed due to the pain every day lately. This help simplify things and explain some stuff to me early on. Thank you so much! <3

Thankyou ❤. You just helped me understand what I've been facing for over 10 years. I'm in so much pain and I can't open and close my mouth. I need urgent help. I've tried getting help, but no one explained it to me this way.
You do an amazing job with your videos. More please.

Thank you 👍
I have bruxism, but sicne I got my nightguard all my pain, especially in the neck disappeared. Watch yourself carefully, if you have pain. Pain is a sign that something is wrong and you might see a doctor or dentist.

Thanks for this helpful explanation. My jaw joints have always popped when I open and closed my mouth. Now one side makes an unpleasant grinding sound, which hurts. I’m going to see my dentist asap. Thanks again!

I been have jaw pains for weeks now. My mouth can't open but so wide. When I went to the dentist, it was barely impossible to open wide so they can x-ray my teeth. I know it's a TMJ. Hurts me when I chew or when I open to brush my teeth. That's something I need to talk about at my dentist. I go back Thursday to get 2 teeth pulled, I'll mention it then.🥺Thank you for this video, I had no idea what a TMJ was until I found this video. Thank you so much🥰💞☺️

My bf suddenly developed an underbite where his bottom teeth are touching roof of his mouth. What would you recommend for an underbite? I had a dislocated jaw after being hit by a car as a pedestrian and had pmd. I got braces to get a straight bite. It took 3 years and now my tmd is gone thanks to the braces/straight teeth. Great video & info! Thank you. I really want to help my bf feel comfy again with his teeth. Will a surgery be needed for underbite? When he puts his lower jaw forward, we can clearly see that's how it supposed to be.

Oh wow so I've been suffering with pain, swelling, clicking for a long long time and I felt like the doctors dismissed me whenever I came in with chronic pain they downplayed it because I'm young and healthy looking well finally had a CT scan and it showed advanced arthritis where the cartliage worn away, bone spur, and joint damage. DJD. Degenerative joint disease.

Ah this was super helpful! I week ago I fell with full speed on my face- had to go to the hospital to stitch up m chin. I thought that was the reason I couldn’t open or close my jaw or eat anything.

I’m 25 and have been struggling with this since I was 15 😢 I finally started treatment past a mouthguard and tried Botox. This really helped me notice the chronic tension I’ve had in my face, neck, and upper back. It’s been months since my treatment and now I’m back to being in pain. Is Botox the only way to relieve my tension? Has anyone seen success with muscle relaxers or acupuncture? 😢

I had what I thought was a toothache, though wasn't sure about which tooth - - the raw nerve stabbing kind of pain - - but after X-Rays the dentist didn't find anything new to account for it, so just sent me home, saying "wait and see"... I was still in severe pain, sometimes flaring up to almost unbearable and the pain shot up into my ear... then, Googling I found reference to TMJ and saw some massages on YouTube so tried them - they helped (not 100%, but a lot better... or maybe that's coincidentally when the painkillers I took over an hour before finally kicked in, though that's a stretch) - - but I never had jaw mobility issues. Friends who've had TMJ say that can't be what I have, since my mobility is just fine... but I don't care what it's called, it hurt and was helped by the TMJ massages. My jaw only clicks when I open to extreme or move it side to side in such a stretched position... I do clench my teeth when stressed (a lot of the time), but I mouth-breathe when sleeping (broken nose as a kid, so the can't breathe through the nose when not upright and awake), so can't be grinding or clenching teeth when asleep.
Is there another name for jaw tightness that causes or correlates to nerve issues, that can mimic tooth pain, but has no effect on mobility?
I saw in your video that TMJ is actually the name(or acronym for) of the joint, and not the disorder... are there different names for the different problems?

I feel a click every time I open my mouth without exception since I was around 17, but I don't feel pain at all (recently some random ear pains, but it can have other causes, right?) and already used braces, do I have to worry?
