1. Do you consider yourself a mood reader?

5. Most often, do you use reading to escape, to learn, or to critically reflect?
6. What is a book that made you laugh out loud?
7. What is a book that has made you cry? Or, if you don’t cry, one that really moved you?
8. What is a book that you didn’t even know how you felt about?
9. Are you more likely to read on a sunny day or a cloudy day?
10. Do you usually “set the mood” when you read? Music, lights, smells, etc?
11. Can you leap from book to book or do you need buffer time between them?

Romances really make me feel better when I'm sad too, those happy mushy feels are really helpful.

Piles of Possibilities for life! And that scene in The Killing Dance is all kinds of perfection 💕

Talia Hibbert's books, especially her Brown Sisters trilogy, make me laugh out loud. Another one that I have reread multiple times that makes me laugh is Texts From Jane Eyre - that's one that I actually enjoy on audio, which is rare for me, but it's just so silly. Born a Crime was also hilarious!!

My wife loves Trevor Noah. I’m going to give her the book for Mother’s Day.
I feel the same way about _The Bluest Eye_ and most of Morrison’s books.

I just recently read Born a Crime and loved it! Trevor Noah is hilarious. I don’t often laugh out loud while reading, but John Irving’s A Prayer for Owen Meany got me. It’s a big book, but totally worth the time!

If you haven't watched Trevor Noah's Daywalker show, it's great fun to compare the stories in there with the ones in Born a Crime. It's a lot of the same material, but often from a very different angle because it was written for a South African audience.

Laughing during a story about Hitler? Okay, now I *have* to read Born a Crime!
Reading when it's pouring down rain outside feels so satisfying.
I found Richard Russo's novel Straight Man hilarious.
