📚 Books Mentioned 📚

❓ Questions ❓
1. Do you consider yourself a mood reader?
2. Do you set TBR lists and do you stick to them?
3. Do books affect you emotionally? Does the mood of a book rub off on you?
4. When you’re feeling sad, what do you read? (Or do you not read when sad?)
5. Most often, do you use reading to escape, to learn, or to critically reflect?
6. What is a book that made you laugh out loud?
7. What is a book that has made you cry? Or, if you don’t cry, one that really moved you?
8. What is a book that you didn’t even know how you felt about?
9. Are you more likely to read on a sunny day or a cloudy day?
10. Do you usually “set the mood” when you read? Music, lights, smells, etc?
11. Can you leap from book to book or do you need buffer time between them?

Loved this video, thanks! I love that you find ambient sounds and music to fit the book your reading. Going to try that as I tend to just put classical music on. I also burn candles. Always look forward to your videos📚😃

I absolutely loved your answers😆 I can so relate to what you said about the mood of books affecting your day (or not!) because I'm the same

I’ve been using the writer’s library for ambience when working on my laptop and needing focus, or writing in my journal. My journaling - candles burning, cup of hot tea, always use a fountain pen with purple ink. And I LOVE decaf Paris in a Teacup. Now my mother does as well. In fact, I just placed another Harney and Sons Tea order. Indulgence in small things makes all the difference in our emotional health.

My go-to authors for needing a comfort read are Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, LM Montgomery and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Re-read a few of those yearly. The Anne of Green Gables series make me laugh out loud. I also love to sink my teeth into a good historical person’s biography. Delving into a familiar person’s life totally gets me to stop being a bit to much into negative emotions.

I used to not really be much of a mood reader but in the past 2 years or so I've found myself drifting to read what I'm in the mood for. If there's a readathon though I can usually push through the mood and read the books I've chosen for the prompts though.

I bought the candle (Moss/Scarlet Letter) based on your recommendation and the description of the scent and it burns and smells wonderful! Thanks for the rec. I tend to not have a TBR-feels constricting, and I basically read for entertainment or to learn as you do. Right now I have five books going: Red Moon Rising(for my book group), Anne Rule True Crime Files #17(nook), Creating a Culture of Feedback (for work), Dead Run (audible), and the Turn of the Key (hardback).

I am a total mood reader. I’ve got a tbr bookcase so I’ve got a lot to choose from.

I got my candles! The Scarlet Letter candle is so bright, it’s definitely a spring candle. The Catcher in the Rye candle is deep and earthy. I love them both. Fahrenheit 451 is definitely a winter candle. I’ve tucked it away for later in the year.

I understand the reasoning behind the non sharing of TBRs for the foreseeable future but I would like to let you know those were some of my fave videos you put out. I loves the arcs and new releases sneak peek. I felt I was more ahead of the "game" by watching your tbrs. That said I still enjoy your videos and will continue to watch.

Have you ever considered being a broadcaster? You have a tv news voice!

baseball ambience is my worst nightmare lol I do not like crowds at all....I fell in love with this channel called "Nemo's Dreamscapes" and they have jazz and vintage songs or "oldies" playing in the background and in the foreground it's either raining, you're underwater, or there's a fire...or in a deep sleep. It's like layered noise. I use it when I write essays and write any kinds of things in general. Try it out!!

I always burn a candle when reading. Because of you, I have ordered from North Avenue Candles multiple times. I have burned through two and have 7 in the cabinet.

Great video, Olive! You and I are so similar. I’ve never understood a book hangover either 🤷🏼‍♂️😂

Good morning ☀️. I am very much a mood reader. I read romance books. I read contemporary romance, mafia romance, motorcycle romance, bully romance, steamy romance, romance books about fighters. I don’t set TBR’s because I see books on Instagram, Facebook and on Amazon that I want. I also watch YouTube and see people recommending books that I want to read. I have read several books and not one has ever made me cry. I get upset when the people in the book I’m reading don’t do what I think they should do. Whether I’m sad or happy I read romance books. Romance is my favorite genre. I just read because I enjoy doing it. I like to read outside when the weather is warm or I read in bed and I also read at work on break.

This is a fun interesting tag! Don’t worry, I rarely if ever cry over books either haha

I really, really wish I could at least stick to a TBR. I literally ignore every one I make. I don't even pay attention to yearly reading challenges like Popsugar, Modern Mrs. Darcy, etc. after I carefully record them in my reading journal. I don't even know why I try. I'm 100, 000% a mood reader.🤦

How did you get into book reviewing? If you've already made a video on that I missed it 😂. I would love to be able to do that!
