In this video, Don Jones covers various keyboard and mouse commands for navigating Microsoft Windows 8. These are techniques you can pass along to users in your environment to help them get along with Windows 8 a bit more easily.

The new user interface in Windows 8 was initially referred to as the “Metro” user interface, but is now generally called the “Modern” UI. It’s designed to accommodate touch devices, which is fantastic if you’re on a tablet. If you’re using a keyboard and mouse combination, however, it can be a bit intimidating.

One of the most fundamental changes starts with the physical keyboard you’re using. If it doesn’t have a Windows button, you need to get a new one. This used to be just a convenient shortcut, but with Windows 8, it’s almost mandatory. Shawn will discuss what this button allows you to do and why it’s so critical, along with multiple other features.
