If u take the whole Bible and find how much it talks about Homosexuality percentage wise its less than 1%, meaning that it wasnt really a priority and it is not the worst sin to make. Also, in the bible it says, that we shall not wear blended linens yet we do. So why are we critisizing other people for the sins they make when we are sinning as well? There is not such thing as a perfect Christian. We all sin. We just use the sins of others to take attention off of the sins we are committing.

It seems odd to me, that a religion based upon the principles of love, tolerance and forgiveness can marginalise someone for something they cannot change. It's tantamount to racism. The Bible does discourage homosexuality, but the Bible was also written by men, not God. It is man's interpretation of God's word. Therefore the only real example we have of 'God's word' are through analysing the actions of Jesus Christ, the son, or human incarnation of God depending on what you believe. His actions only promote equality for all. That was his entire message. At no point does he condemn gay people. He invites prostitutes into his inner circle, has men of all races within his discipleship and actively promotes community in every respect. The golden rule, situation ethics, love thy neighbour, the concept that we are all created in God's image, all of which are Christian arguments and proposed by God himself in some form or another, NOT man's interpretation of it (disregarding situation ethics) all indicate that all human beings should be treated with dignity and respect. So why is there an institutionalised hatred towards LGBT people within Christianity?

The loving God that I would love to believe in wouldn't allow that. Corrupt men, however, with an agenda to gain support and power, would, in an effort to gain support and status from like minded individuals.
