He makes a very good point about what sin is and separation of church and state. In reality not having compassion and caring for queer people is equally as much of a sin. To hate sinners is against gods will, because in a way we are all sinners. We need to treat each other with compassion

He makes a point here. It’s not criminal, especially in my opinion, but is still seen as a sin. There should be a clear distinction between crime and sin.

I listened to man instead of God my whole life they always said homosexuality is not in the Bible or it’s man and child or it’s just love. I was bisexual for 18 years I’m 23 now and I always thought I was born this way until I started questioning if it was okay. It was always in the back of my mind when I was with the same gender and God showed me it wasn’t okay, the reason I like the same gender was because of sexual abuse from the same gender I was 6 and she was my teacher. That is what created me gay and perverted my mind. Jesus will not shame you he loves you all equally so much. He just wants to help you and save you turn to him before it’s too late when he comes back he won’t be merciful anymore. Jesus delivered me from homosexuality, video game addiction, depression, self harm, gay relationship, fear etc… he can to you too. Stop listening to man and start listening and following God read his word (the Bible) and see for yourself or just talk to him and he will show you anything and help you with anything.

Marriage predates Christianity so I don't understand why my fellow Christian's and Catholics are so against gay people getting married.

I think what Pope Francis is saying is that it is a sin but not a crime. If it is a crime then all sin should be punishable by the law. What should be punishable by law in all circumstances is sexual abuse in children and any behaviour that promotes those intentions or behaviours.

People need a serious education on what defines an “unnatural behavior.”
Any, and I mean any behavior an animal does, unprovoked, is natural. If a lion decides on its own to eat cabbage, that is a natural behavior. If a bird decides never to fly again and instead tries to swim, that is a natural behavior.
Now, an unnatural behavior would be an organism being prompted to do something. Like an animal being forced to perform in a circus. Unnatural behavior. Or orcas performing at seaworld, unnatural behavior. .
So a person being homosexual, indeed, is a natural behavior. (Also observed across the animal kingdom)
If a straight person was being forced to be gay, unnatural behavior. This is biology 101.

The pope should not concern himself with crimes. That's what the state is for. He should concern himself in matters of sins of the souls that are offensive to God. Homosexuality has not been a crime in over half a century in most countries. But it's still a grave sin to act on it, just like it's a sin to fornicate, which is sex outside marriage.

Idolatry and coveting your buddy's wife are legal too, still doesn't mean they should be practiced regularly and normalized.
But what do I know? I'm not a Catholic, or a practitioner of any other form of heathen Babylon secret religion - just a humble Christian believer in the Word.
