I listened to the full episode today and loved the bit when he gave the little lad the books and years later he met him in a pub and he was a staff Sgt in the SAS.

Awesome interview. Kind of weird seeing "HAPPY HOUR" pop up as the podcast name for this interview being my first experience with the podcast, but really cool interview.

4:43 - You most certainly are drowning during water boarding. It might be slower than if you were submerged but you are drowning.

There is a lot about UKSF Selection mentioned by a lot of forner SF soldiers. Nit much is known or mentioned about this final phase. It is most likely the most closely guarded aspect of Selection. Many people who have made outstanding times on the hills and/or displayed quintisential solidering skills in the jungle have fell short during this final phase. Imagine all of that effort, 5-6 months disolving in an instant. It goes to illustrate how SF members must as mentally robust as they are physically.
