Thank you! I wondered if I could drop raw in sauce and cook that way. I've only made meatballs twice, so far, and they were a bit dry so, that's why I wanted to try this way, if doable. Thanks again

I have never fried my meatballs. My Italian family taught me also. It also adds great flavor to the sauce.

I made mine like this too, it’s the way my mom made them! She always made them this way! The sauce and the meatballs are very good!

Thank you. My mother made amazing meatballs and never fried or baked. All the natural juices incorporated into the gravy while it cooks makes for an amazing finish

They look delish 😋
What do you put in the sauce? Or do you just use the sauce itself without adding any water or condiment? Thank you!

best method ever, it's so hard to roll meatballs while some are frying at the same time and u gotta rush because u need to flip them so they don't burn and stick to the pan and fall apart when prying them up, now I'll just take my time and plop raw meatballs into my gravy and cook the sausages later on the pan or maybe throw them into the gravy raw too

This is how my grandmother did it . They were the best hands down second to none. One of my life’s regrets was not paying attention to her details . She was up at 7am and they cooked for about 3 hours or more in her sauce . Bay leaves and two canisters of parmigiana cheese w bay leaves and a little red crush pepper from the Azores. Amazing. My aunt comes close but she cuts corners. But yes..meat raw right into the sauce !!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I also cook my meatballs in the sauce. I find they have a nicer texture. BUT, nothing beats a great tasting fried meatball! A question for you. I just found your channel and maybe this was already answered. Anyway, my mom and grandmas always made a very smooth tomato sauce whereas my dear husband prefers a chunky sauce. Is this regional to Italy or just a personal preference? Thanks!

Bravo!! Always have and always will drop them in raw as my Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother have. Why make all that additional mess and clean up anyway. Fried meatballs are appetizers. ;)

I'm going to be making my own meatballs for the fist time in my life. I'm 63. I want to cook them this way but I also don't want them falling apart in the pot!

If I do this, it’s because I’m low on oil. However, they do taste great either way in my humble opinion.❤
