Unifi Access Setup and Installation- From Start to Finish

I decided to upgrade my 1950s former-Woolshed-now-office with Unifi Access, providing swipe card access using a magnetic lock. This is all the steps from getting the parts, setting up a test rig, drilling a bunch of holes, crawling around my attic, and how to set up the devices in Unifi.

Question, Can i sue the "unifi Cloud Gateway Ultra" for the gateway?

Is there a specific Unifi Switch that is required to provide the correct power to the unifi access or will any POE switch work?
Also what happens when there is a power failure does your door just unlock and anyone can come in?
If it happens to stay locked during a power failure how does one get out through the door in case of emergency situation.

Can I bother you with a few questions please?

1. Does Unifi Access work with 3rd party door access readers?
2. How do you enroll a new NFC card is you have the reader far away? Do you always have to go and tap the card on that specific reader? (if so, it's not good for bigger deployments).
3. Does it work with PoE+ as well or only PoE++?
4. Do you need anything special to enroll mobile phones for access?
5. Can Unifi Access be used for time clock-in-out? Can you export the database?

Do you know if it's possible to have it open to everyone at certain times while requiring to be unlocked at others? I'd love to have this on the front door of the family cabin, but no way my family would remember to keep cards on them to get back in during day time

Thanks Lars! Ubiquiti really missed a trick here with No Fingerprint sensor on thier Access unit. Pin Code + Fingerprint + Smartphone button access is a minimum must have! Also for future lockwise, you may want to consider installing an Access Lock Electric, which releases the strike plate holding the door handle's latch bolt. Offers a manual Key means of unlocking and opening the door if electricity fails. Having a manual override backup via key, is essential!

Only catch with that magnet lock is when power goes out the door is unlocked. If you can do a striker lock those are better as they can fail secure instead of fail insecure.

Shouldn’t the button to exit be wired to the REX pins for “Request to Exit”?
