This is the first video in the video series of Unifi access full setup. In this video we take a look at all of the Unifi access hardware and look at some of the prices.

In the next video we will be creating a network for Unifi access and adopting all of the Unifi access elements into our Unifi access controller.

I'm working in a Unifi Door Control Access with the G2 Kit. What is the recommended device to enable two-way communication with the person in front of the door?

It would be great to see a setup with an easily available lock for a small business or SOHO. Basically a recommendation and howto for a good option to enable Unifi access control of a standard door.

Will you be looking at adding an alarm or doorbell buzzer to the set up;
Can you set up with a door position system and an alarm - so that if the door is left open, it will set off a door alarm to either remind someone in the area to close it properly or set off a security alarm if the door is forced open?
Can the bell function be set up with a 12v doorbell chime to notify anyone in the house that someone wants to come in or is it limited to notifications on the Unifi Access app only?

Hi great video nice and easy to follow, i have a question, i look after a school we have a gen2+ cloud key with 54 Unifi HD access points and approx 1300 users running on a 10gb backbone, would i be able to put one access kit onto the cloud key or would al lthe extra data / storage required for the photos etc crash the cloud key? or would it be best just to purchase an UDM Pro, my switches are PoE ++ but Arubas not Unifi. Thanks.

Having just set one up. We removed it. It's horrible. It's more like a beta product not tested in the field.
The Access Pro reader is to small to use for pin codes. The bell button doesn't light up and is never noticed. And even when pressed, needs to be continually pressed for about 2-3 seconds to ring, not just a touch. You can not preview the video feed. It does not record to Unifi protect. You can not select which relay to activate from the UI.
It is utterly horrible and over priced.
The readers need to be connected directly to the Access hub, not just a unifi switch or part of the network. The relays can only be attributed to a reader, you can not activate a relay by itself. I love the unifi gear, but this was a big waste if money for us and an embarrassment to our client.

Can it be set up to use a electronic striker for a deadbolt?
Can any other camera be used like a G4 pro or bullet?
Is the camera seen in access or protect?

Will the camera work in Winnipeg where the temp are - 40c? I know that it is not rated for those temperatures, but what will happen? Will there be a locking failure, or will there just be issues seeing the lcd screen? Thanks!

Does the camera on the door reader record to Unifi Protect?
