Ao Oni goes even deeper than it seems.

The game was so popular in Japan (and probably more countries in the East side) that it has a full on animated series, that has very gruesome jokes (the first episode is absolutely insane)

They made 3 movies. 2 live action and 1 animated
Again, the animated one is absolutely insane (not in a good way?)

The game was so big that it had an actual GAMBLING MACHINE based off Ao Oni. There were stands that sold the first Ao Oni movie in dvd and had many other things that were based off Ao Oni. There was one of the characters as a small pouch for your phone!

Not to mention the other games that were only on mobile and online for a while. They made 3 online games, 8 3D games and not to mention the mobile games like Ao Oni 2 and Ao Oni X.

Yes, this game is horrible and doesn't compare to horror games now, but it's absolutely crazy how much it affected the East side during the game release when it became such a big hit.
