For those playing on PC, you can do the first equip/inspect animation without a mod. If you holster your weapon/s with "B" (the default key bind). Then press and hold the "B/holster" key again, it will go through the animation.

In 2.0 if you long press the button assigned for the weapon, the first equip animation will play

I put Always First Equip on a hotkey and everytime I'm going into a base I use it to act like I am Benjamin Winters before inevitably getting caught in a gunfight.

I'd add another I just tried for the first time, "Custom Quickslots (Consumables, Grenades, and Cyberware abilities)". Ever wanted to actually use optic camo with grenades at the same time without swapping to the menu? Now you can set a new custom hotkey for optic camo. This applies to many more things and should've probably been a base game update at some point after using it only a few times.

Always first equip is obsolete because if you hold the hotkey for equiping your weapon it will also show these animations in the vanilla game. So you know: 1, 2, 3 and 4 (for your arm mods) and also (for me) B for holstering your weapon works if you hold it.

Fun fact, you can get the first equip animations by double tapping the holster weapon key then double tapping it again to draw your weapon

Always First Equip should be added officially by CDPR for everyone. Also the enhanced crafting system that allows you to choose what aesthetic variant of a weapon your crafting as well as it’s damage type.
