I consider this part of the modding community as the most important, they're just so good

For sodium you should enable “Always defer chunk updates” if you get lag spikes while looking around or moving.

you really should use that inventory mode to freak out some hermits. i would love to see Scar's chest monster becoming sentient. you can hide in someones storage and randomly opening chests and making noises would be fun too. and maybe smelting stuff in their furnaces out of nowhere. they would really freak out

Just a friendly reminder that mods like Free Cam and Inventory Tabs could get you banned on servers as they are counted as an unfair advantage

I've seen most of those in use and always thought "I can live without that", but now with proper explanation, introduction and context for each one I'm actually considering getting several of those. Thank you for taking the time and going through what you are using, that has been surprisingly educational for me. :)

Minihud actually has shulker box preview in built in the way that you like it X. It’s not as customizable but it looks like you don’t need that customization anyway ^^ I also use item scroller from masa, very handy for moving items between containers e.g scrolling over an item to get small amounts of it instead of needing to pick it up. And Continuity (with indium so you can use it with sodium) allows for connected glass in Fabric

I've never even heard of most of these! I'm downloading them right now :o

Are you guys looking at adding the Distant Horizons mod? It basically lets you have near infinite render distance by rendering further away chunks at lower detail.

One mod I always use when playing on vanilla servers is item scroller. It allows you to use your scroll wheal to take one item at a time from inventories, it also enables you to shift drag to quickly move items

Thank you so much for making this video! I was really curious about which mods you use!

I’d love to see xisuma do a litematica tutorial just so we can get more people using this wonderful mod

9:20 Out of context I love how it just looks like "Ok, we can adjust the volume of generic sounds, we can amplify Goat Horns and Music Disks, and we can mute Grian whenever he's starting another war."

I’ve tried a lot of the mods X showcased before and they’re all very, very good. I thought I’d suggest some mods that are in line with the ones he recommended!

Tweakeroo is a mod made by the same person behind litematica and minihud that’s equally useful. It has neat commands like fake sneaking (you can walk and sprint, but don’t walk off blocks), normal speed on slime blocks, pick block for appropriate tools, a built in auto clicker (and auto 1.9 sword swiper), and even a free cam! Along with many, many other things.

Appleskin is also very nice, it shows how full your saturation bar is and shows how much eating will fill the saturation, health, and hunger bar when holding food.

And a texture pack I highly recommend is Stay True. It adds variation to a lot of blocks (stone types, ores, bricks, flowers, etc.), makes blocks next to each other connect with one another (dirt pixels on adjacent non-dirt blocks, bricks lay into other types of brick, grass will bleed into other blocks. Hard to describe if you haven’t seen it, but its’s fairly similar to Continuity, if you’re familiar with that) and generally makes most blocks look much more pretty. Crops flower when fully aged, grass is a little more vibrant (but not too saturated that it’s ugly), melon blocks look less like puke, and so, so many more changes that all manage to stay true (ha) to Minecraft, while also making it impossible to go back. Cannot recommend enough.

Also, if you’d like to use shaders now that you have so many performance enhancing mods, download Iris! It makes shaders compatible with sodium as they are with optifine.

Thanks for the recommendations, X! I’ll definitely be checking out inventory tabs and camera utils when I get the chance!

This is so helpful. I’d picked up on a few of these from your Hermitcraft videos, having never really realised just how much there was in terms of “quality of life” mods rather than just big gameplay changes. I also last tried to use mods many many years ago when it was not that easy to set up. I knew of Optifine and that it seems to have gone out of fashion but I never really knew how to set it up. It’s so much easier now though and I much prefer playing now certain things are easier or improved

For anyone interested in designing + optimising their own farms, carpet is absolutely essential. It allows easy measuring of rates and speeding up of the game so you don't have to afk for hours every time you want to test something (plus a huge number of other options to make testing things easier).

I'd love mod showcases by Xisuma in the style of his snapshot videos.

I highly highly highly suggest you use distant horizons, the LOD mod that not only improves performance, but allows render distances of up to 256 chunks. I know it sounds crazy but its clientside, and users chunk caching. If it has access to the seed it can pregenerate the LOD based on the seed. It's really good and would really show off how big hermitcraft really is when you can see all the builds in the distance

I don't use mods myself, but I've always been a little curious about them. This is a nice showcase of the different types that are available to help the player, as opposed to the ones that make Minecraft feel a bit too much not like itself.

I would be totally lost if I didn't have World Edit, I can't imagine myself still using Minecraft's own /fill and /clone commands or the structure block when this amazing tool is just free to use.

I can easily say that i will probably never understand technical mods but I do enjoy watching them being used successfully.
