I highly highly recommend Remnants mod, its the best and largest world-generation mod in Terraria

the fact that the music mod for calamity is bigger than the mod itself really shows you how much effort they put into it

As a fellow mod reviewer I highly recommend these content mods after Calamity!
- mod of redemption
- stars above
- homeward journey
- secrets of the shadows
- polarities

The angler shop is probably my favourite here. I mean the idea of having that currency so you're still having to do the quest fish, so you're essentially changing nothing about the gameplay itself and you're just removing the RNG element, it's like... the perfect mod idea.

You should also try The Stars Above and The Amulet of Many Minions they are fire af

"30 + hours extra", I think when you first play calamity it's way more. Great video non the less and I am so happy I found a new mood to play( the combat changes one)

*I love Fargo's Mutant mod, * not only adds those NPCs that help you A LOT to make farming less tedious, but also adds recipes for instant arenas for Plantera and Wall of Flesh (literal bombs and insta-platforms that you place down and they make the boss arena for you), adds a sundial recipe to skip day and night, and the Abomination NPC has an option to skip events like Solar Eclipses, Blood Moons, etc... REALLY handy whenever you want to do something but a damn event you didn't want spawns.

Quick note about using Thorium and Calamity together, while doing so is entirely possible, and indeed supported by the dev teams of both mods, conflicts can still occur. Specifically, Calamity's Sulphurous Sea biome always spawns dungeon side, and Thorium's Aquatic Depths always spawns jungle side. This is a good solution made to avoid conflict between two major biomes. However, Thorium's Lich boss is summoned at an altar in the mod's Graveyard biome, which always spawns behind the dungeon. From what I saw, Thorium's Graveyard, and its Lich altar, are generated BEFORE the Sulphurous Sea. This resulted in my Graveyard being overwritten, and I had no Lich altar in my world, so I had to use another mod to add one to my inventory so I could place one myself. Be mindful of worldgen conflicts, people.

Another amazing one that wasn’t mentioned in this video is The Stars Above! It’s a really fun one and I’d highly recommend it.

Playing calamity is like experiencing terraria again for the first time. It’s the closest thing there is to terraria 2. It’s so good I wouldn’t complain if the entirety of calamity was added to vanilla.

The “New Beginnings” mod is pretty cool, allows you to pick what class your going to play and get a small early game boost for that class. But you can still switch to other classes with no downside.
Also watch for Starlight River first release coming soon!

Magic Storage is so hard to live without in vanilla!

Btw, to anyone looking to play the calamity mod, make sure to get the music mod, the sound track is so good the base mod is literally unplayable without it

All these look fantastic, especially Thorium! Amazing what the community is able to do :)

I hugely second Magic Storage, makes it so much easier to find items while also being balanced out with the somewhat expensive crafting recipes for better capacity and still needing to take up space to put the storage boxes. Used it in my Calamity playthrough and it was an big help.

Looks like Hero's mod os basically a better version of Cheat Sheet, I'll keep that in mind for next time I wanna mess around

Something that Chippy forgot to mention about Calamity, is that every vanilla boss is changed (at least somewhat), so every boss feels like a completely new experience

For recipe brower i would HIGHLY reccomend binding the "query item" to something like middle click on your mouse, makes it much faster and easier to see recipes for an item instead of placing it in the box

Magic storage alone is why it's so hard for me to go back to vanilla terraria

A mod i would suggest to go alongside the calamity mod is “calamity’s vanities”

Its a smallish mod that adds a ton of calamity mod based vanity stuff to terraria; Pets, mounts, furniture, stuff like that.

It doesnt do a whole lot, but it makes the calamity mod experience just that much more interesting
