Takes a lot of balls to play this instrument..

Even after 8 years, this instrument is still futuristic.

This is a comfort video now. I’ve been on the internet a long time. It’s one of those shady patches I come and sit under from time to time.

I like how you can tell he's absolutely feeling it throughout the video. Thought to be fair he has one hell of s reason to be proud

This looks like something you would see in a Dr. Seuss Book

This is one of those timeless parts of the internet that you just find yourself watching over and over again.

If the internet makes a time capsule, this should go in there.

8 years ago we had this wonderful genius show the world what he could do and its still truly, a work of art.

I watched this years ago, and loved it. My 8 y/o came home from school today raving about the marble music machine: lo and behold, showed her this and it was what her teacher had shown her at school. Ended up watching it with her and her sister, all loving it. Truly amazing.

This looks like what would be a DJ set in a steam punk world

His mom: He should be an engineer.
His dad: No he should be a musician.

This thing was a bop back in the day, and it still is

The most crazy part about it is that it isn't just the most elaborate music box. There is a need for the player to actively play the guitar, pull the correct levers at the correct time, and then there is intermission. This is not just a feat of engineering but also a true display of skill.

In some ways, I still love this more than any future versions of the Marble Machine. The rawness of it, the marbles coming loose, the immediacy of it. Having watched the years of struggle to refine the idea, I'm wondering if something was lost in trying to make it perfect.
