The fact that you are watching the videos and care about the music and future of Wintergatan is the best support anyone can have, I want to thank everyone who is here for that kind of support, it is really the fuel for the Wintergatan Engine.

Why do we accept support in this way?
I, Martin, can already sustain myself 100% doing what I love to do. If you want to support artists/organisations who have not yet reached that privileged position, please consider supporting other artists/organisations who need the support more. With that said, I have too many ideas and too little time and with your support I can get more help from people around me to execute the ideas better and bring them out in the world faster.

All this beautiful engineering and he says; "I've installed this water leveler thing". I love geniuses.

Has anyone ever told you that you are a genius? Anyone who can create at this level of complexity has to have a very high IQ! I cannot stop watching this. I am 59 and a cancer patient, among other maladies, and every time I watch this, I smile. Thank you for brightening up this old mans day! Keep writing! God bless.

This is my first YouTube comment. You will probably never read this as there are so many comments. But I just want to say this is truly inspirational. I have heard many variations of this delightful piece of music from guitars to game boys. I hope you are very pleased with this. It's great to see real music and passion still survives in a world full of pop. Thank you for your hard work and sharing this with the world. I find it very noble to actually build a fantastic machine and then sharing your knowledge free. I wish there were more people like you. Thank you very much and your work, skill, talent and of course you music is widely apriciated.

I honestly thought you were just triggering samples for the kick and snare... And a real Vibraphone. Holy crap dude. 14 months. Fully mechanical instrument. Just... My mind is blown.

Using rice for the snare drum is just so ... it has this wonderful home-made charm to it!

It's easy to see the inspiration from Matthias Wandel in this build even aside from the gears. Very cool. Well thought out design and great execution. I particularly like the lego peg programming.

When I saw the video, I thought the rhythm was overdubbed. Now I'm truly impressed!

Matthias Wandel! The most Canadian engineer that this Earth could ever hope to contain!

He has proven definitively, there is beauty in genius. This is nearly a literal picture of just one tiny part of his imagination. Astounding.

His disposition is so cool like he just acts so chill about everything but I’m watching this and he’s explaining it and I still have no idea how he managed to accomplish this. It’s incredible, I can’t wrap my head around it. This guy is truly a genius, not to mention the marble song is catchy as hell!

Haha, I knew it! When i saw the original video I just knew that Matthias Wandel's gear generator was involved somewhere! Great to have it confirmed! Great work Martin, thoroughly impressed! Du har fått mig att börja klura på att bygga instrument igen, tack för inspirationen!
