They need to split up reliability.  One form should be engine and powertrain, the other should be based on interior cabin and infotainment system.  I care more about a car that has a reliable engine and powertrain.

I hate how CR judges cars more for their infotainment systems that stuff that actually matters to people.

Would you consider a 2000 Mustang GT with 110k miles for 5000?

In 2005 they said the new 06 3 series was reliable and look at it now.

hmm you shouldve done a quick ranking of the actual reliability of those cars, i didnt learn any "reliable" information after spending 1min33s watching the video.

As far as I remember the CR website has listed Audi S4, but never tested it, saying “This model has not been fully tested.” I wonder if CR has a plan to test Audi S3. It is an affordable sport car and perhaps deserves a close look by CR engineers.

When in the world are you guys going to do a review on the new 2015 Dodge Challenger RT Scat Pack? With a starting price of $38, 495. seating for 5 people a large trunk and class leading electronics/interior, it's the best value of all the V8 muscle cars?  It's faster in the 1/4 mile (what muscle cars are built for) than the 2015 GT Mustang and 2015 SS Camaro.  Then there is the Challenger Hellcat.  ;o)

it would be better if that report was a little longer and add a recommendation list .. another suggestion .. why not Consumer Report make a new version ( Consumer Car Garage .. and tell consumers what car are reasonable and easy to maintain then other brands or digging into 3 to 5 years old models to see how good did they stand out special the KIA models and Hyundai models

Problem is that two years does not a reliable car make! What happens five years down the road when air conditioning systems, heating systems ( example BMW), fuel systems, electronic computer systems and cooling systems fail. It takes a longer track record than two years for a manufacturer to earn my hard earned money!

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. Number 1 in reliabitlity for all SUVs accrding to this study. If only people knew in the US how durable/reliable this brand really is.

Since Consumer Reports was too lazy to show us the list in this video, here are the results (out of 28 car brands, 11 are luxury brands):
#1 Lexus, #5 Audi, #6 Buick, #9 Porsche, #11 Acura, #12 Volvo, #14 BMW, #15 Lincoln, #18 Cadillac, #20 Infiniti, #24 Mercedes.

Unfortunately your surveys are not reliable themselves. If a car owner never read the manual and don't know how his/her car works, it's noted as a car's fault. But it isn't. That's the case with for example Fiat 500 (and some other Eruopean models) which was designed with European habits in mind.

Come on, we already knew "new technologies=problems" That shouldn't be the main concern.
What we consumers actually want to know is how reliable a car is after like 5 years, or after the free repair/maintenance warranty runs out. And that's where Lexus outshines and no other manufactures can even come close to it.

Fiat 500 deserves to be last. Very, very unreliable.
