Hey guys in this video, I talk about how to re-pot and care for your Phalaenopsis orchid when it is finished flowering.
What you will need is; bark, a pot, scissors, something to sterilize your scissors with and cinnamon.
Firstly you may want to sterilize your scissors, in the video, I use surgical alcohol but you can use a lighter or bleach it really doesn't matter. Next, you have to cut off the flower spike, in the video, I cut it off at the base to allow the plant to focus all its energy on growing new roots, but if you want more flower spikes you can also cut the flower spike three nodes from the base and a new flower spike will grow from there.
To remove your orchid from its pot gently squeeze the pot to loosen the roots and remove all of the old media from around the roots.
Next cut off any dead roots and place the plant in the new pot and gently place fresh bark in between the roots making sure to secure your orchid in place.
When your orchid is firmly in place apply some cinnamon to the cuts to prevent any infections as cinnamon has anti-bacterial properties.
Lastly, all that is left is to give your orchid a nice deep watering and to place it in a well-lit location away from the direct sun :)

As a side note always remember to sterilize your scissors between plants, in the video I don't as personally I am not that concerned about my Phalaenopsis orchids.
