Let's face it - we don't always take perfect care of our plants. If you've ever had a houseplant that's started to droop or die off, here's a simple care recipe to bring it back to life.

Often times it's as simple as:

1. Remove dead plant matter
2. Repot in a slightly larger pot
3. Refresh the soil and add in new organic matter
4. Give it a GOOD soak
5. Leave it in perfect conditions and pray!

I also have a dracaena marginata, and mine periodically needs to have the lower leaves removed because they go yellow/brown. I have found that this is usually not indicative of a problem as long as it’s just the lower leaves. It’s just the natural leaf cycle, and this is how they eventually get tall, bare stems that will make them a lovely tree shape. Your browning did not look that extensive, so I think you probably would have been fine with no repotting, especially since the root system didn’t look overcrowded. Another common issue with dracaena is green leaves turning brown only on at the tips. This can be caused by fluoride or chlorine in tap water, and can be prevented by switching to distilled or rain water. (I didn’t see any of that here, just mentioning it for other troubleshooters).

Re-potted mine was dry at the bottom and roots coning through bottom on the pot, iv now got a healthy plant. gave it a clean and better soil and better bigger pot.its come back to life and growing again, plant held in there for a long time before i sorted it out.

I have a old dracaena stump that has put out new growths, but my cat kept eating them, and it has stopped growing. So i have to check the pot soon..it's gonna be a huge messy task 🥲

Wouldn't their be worms in worm coasting soils ? Am scared to use it because it might be in the soils or eggs

You inhaled perlite dust, not warmcastings. Always use a mask with it, if not dealing with wet Perlite

Your watering is insufficient at all. You should water the plant till you see water coming out at the bottom of your pot.
