I have lost 70 lbs using intermittent fasting. It really helped me control things and now I’m stable for about a year.

The only study that I need is my personal experience. Keto and IF has literally reversed metabolic syndrome for me. It's very easy to maintain and honestly I rarely feel hungry.

I’ve done both. Fasting is better for me. More than just calories, it has mental and emotional benefits which is more important. Helps me control my cravings as well.

I've tried both.
The benefit with intermittent fasting combined with a high fat diet is, that I'm never feeling hungry, I never get cravings, and I don't get fatigued because my bloodsugar is stable, and I have lot less inflammation, less waterretention, and i lose about 2 lbs a week.
Whenever I've broken keto and tried more carbs, with caloricrestriction through lowering the fat, I've been constantly hungry, had cravings as a result, gotten fatigued because of the rise in bloodsugar when I ate, and I immediately got loads of water in my legs, severe pain in the joints where i have arthritis, and i also stop losing weight.

I think for a study to be really valuable, it needs to look at all the benefits and not just some of them.
And I think the benefits of autophagy is not getting enough attention - at all.

Ever since I learned about interment fasting by Dr Berg and Thomas, I’ve never felt healthier. Barely get as sick anymore.

Intermittent fasting isn't just about weight loss. It's about allowing your body to function more effectively by giving it "recovery" time between after the eating period is over. It also starts to create "flexibility" in your physiology by forcing your body into a state of ketosis for a few hours a day. I did a 16/8 routine for a couple of years and my body became so well adapted to ketones that my first actual extended fast was for 5 days and was unbelievably easy.

I don't really care. Fasting is not just about losing weight. I feel better, my brain works better. I have energy to last all me day. I followed all my life a lot of diets and none did this for me.

I do anywhere from 20 to 24 hour fast everyday. Keto and OMAD. I don't count calories, I eat until I'm full. I feel amazing!

I literally didn't change anything about my diet except eating windows, and lost 80lbs in 10 months with zero exercise. IF is the only thing that's ever worked for me.

Saving on time and $ is also a huge benefit too, I do a 23:1 and once in a while throw a 47:1 into the mix. It's helped me focus so much more on what I eat in that small window than I ever have in my life. Combine that with Keto, cold showers, nasal breathing etc pretty much every nagging symptom I'd had previously disappeared, just three months in. I swear by one meal a day now.

Despite any unresolved metabolic and health benefits, it’s a psychological advantage for me. It’s easier to not eat for extended periods of time rather than eat smaller meals to limit calories.

I've done a 18/6 IF for 15 months along with Ketovore and have lost 130 lbs.My study works for me.

Well, like you said earlier, all I know is that nothing worked for me until I combined IF and keto. I lost 56lb and, more importantly, I've kept it off dancing between the two. I feel free now, no fear of fat! Also, I feel great!!!

I weighed 308lb. With 4 months of strict calorie counting, eating almost nothing but rice, chicken, broccoli and mushrooms, and hours per week of cardio I reached 286 lb.

From 286, with 6 months Keto/carnivore and OMAD with the ocassional 3day extended fast I hit 183 lb. 0 Cardio. 0 fucks given about calories, just carbs and timings.

That's the only study I need.

I’ve reached top condition doing 6-7 meals a day in my 20’s and 30’s. Now I’m 42 and IF works great for me. I’ve just lost 27 pounds in 3 months on IF. Little to no muscle loss as well. I’m stronger now at 208 pounds then I was at 235 pound.

I started IF at the beginning of February. Now, 3 months later, I'm more than 13kg lighter, and doubled my energy.
I started with a tamer eating schedule (6 hour window) and now I'm an OMAD kind of guy. I usually fast for 24-28 hours and eat a "not-quite-keto" meal. Seems to work well for me.

Fasting is just so much easier to do than caloric restriction. I never feel like I’m starving.

After reading about fasting out of curiosity i came to realize that when i hadnt eaten for several hours cause i was to busy or forgot to bring lunch or whatever. I would get this burst of energy and mental focus. Now im puposely going without eating for several hours at a time and my productivity is increasing greatly. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

Most important how you feel practicing IF. I feel great. So screw some bs studies :)

Caloric restriction and mild exercise worked just fine for me before my forties but since then it didn't seem to work at all. I am so happy to discover intermittent fasting in my fifties, finally I have been able to take the extra weight off so I think age might be a factor which didn't seem to be looked at in the study.
