The audacity to tell everybody that it’s safe and to just go home, is incredible.

Their whole plan to burn these chemicals, then lying about the risks is absolutely absurd!!!

I feel so bad for these people. I will bet money that in a few years there will be an Erin Brockovich situation in this town with class action lawsuits.

I can already see the commercial in 15 years. "If you or a loved one was diagnosed with lymphoma due to the ohio chemical disaster, a structured settlement is waiting for you. Please call"

Wasn’t there just a movie about a derailed train that released toxins

Media seemed to down play this incident, I wonder why? 🤔

There’s a new derailment in Huston now. The active and retired train workers warned that these derailments will occur more frequently and with more deadly consequences if the train companies didn’t fix up/update the railways and trains and also provide basic working rights to train workers.

Train workers were on strike last year demanding better working conditions and sick pay, along with other basic working rights. The train companies and the Biden administration didn’t give it to them. They push the workers to work faster than they normally do, they laid off numerous workers to basically a skeleton crews 24/7, and if a worker gets sick, it’s too bad: you either work or you’re fired. Some of these rails are from the CIVIL WAR ERA, and yet the companies who own the railways and trains will not update them. Updating the necessary railways are estimated to cost the train companies $2 billion. That may seem like a lot, but guess how long a train company takes to make that? 2 weeks. Just 2 weeks.

And we wonder why these derailments are happening? The train unions that are supposed to protect these workers are getting slashed and silenced, thus silencing the voice of these workers that EVERYONE in the US relies on. Trains are such a vital part of our transportation and logistics in terms of our goods, energies, etc. We need to better care for these people who work such a thankless job. We need to protect and raise up our train workers!

Have the politicians and their families drink the water.

Heard they could have cleaned it up, but it would have taken longer and cost more than paying out the city.

The RR needs to pay for all. Everyone needs to file a class action lawsuit. The RR gets away with lots of crap

Please keep covering this accident. I’m living in Ohio not close to this area but I’m concerned safety for environment, animal, and children…

Southern Ohio is under a bottled water emergency.

The CEO of Norfolk Southern should be made to drink a liter of E Palestine, Ohio water daily until restitution is paid and environmental remediation occurs.

That’s scary. There was an episode of “I Survived…” about a train accident and the air being so toxic that several people died. Metal appliances melting and such. I couldn’t imagine!
