I BOUGHT The CHEAPEST Jaguar S-Type MANUAL In The Country

I couldn't let you guys down, a bunch of you tagged me in the Hoovie FB group saying I needed to buy this car, so I did. I messaged the seller immediately, went through another painful Marketplace transaction, but we ended up getting a deal made for the cheapest (and probably the ONLY) manual Jaguar S-Type in the country. This 2003 Jag S-Type is powered by the 3.0 Duratec, with a 5 speed manual behind it, and it's rear wheel drive! A pretty incredible package for how cheap the car was!

Common Questions:

What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus

What do I do for a living? Make YouTube videos.

Can you wheelie? No, I suck.

Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.

Where can I keep up with you off the bike?

Instagram: WatchJRGo

Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)

Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.

Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.

Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.

Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo

Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

Had one for six years in uk. Nice drive, I see he has been working on the cooling system, if it tells you it’s low on coolant but looks ok it’s because the float in the expansion tank sinks in modern coolant just bridge the sensor wire.also the tracking that all the garages will tell you is correct will wear the tyres and cause wandering steering so look up alternative settings on jag forums. Merry Christmas!!

19:00 I was so confused when you started doing this while I was behind you in the Super Duty, lol.

They’re good looking cars. Not a shortage of them for sale here in the UK 🇬🇧 and usually relatively cheap unless it’s a 4.2 supercharged with low mileage. Hope you enjoy!

I had no idea these came manual! That's a dream daily driver right there! I always liked the s-type r as well.

For the age, it looks pretty nice and like it will clean up nicely. The manual transmission is definitely a nice find.

I got a whole new respect for you man! I am a big fan of the Police. Nice music to cruise to.
I hope it warms up for you down there. In NH it was 45 deg and supposed to be in the 50's in the next day or so.
Take care and Happy New Year!

Honestly you and Jake should team up and be like LegitStreetCars with Alex & Peter, I really think you would do better in YT by doing less frequent longer complete videos instead of posting so frequently. I always think quality wins out over quantity. People get burned out if a YTer is posting that frequently and will probably end up skipping a lot of them. I do enjoy your content regardless but considering this is your income maybe post less frequently, build up a patreon base and post some extra stuff there. If you look at Chris Rudnick he has a huge patreon following and it looks like he does very well financially.

I love the S Type. I owned a V6 auto one for a few years. Never had any issues with it. Very reliable.

Think I heard you say "the S-Type replaced the XJ6". Not true, JR! The XJ series is the "S-Class" of the Jags. The S-Type is a mid-range model in between the X-Type and the XJ series! LOVE your channel. You actually work on your cars (unlike another Youtubers)! PS You have a great S-Type with a lot of work done already! Rare to find in that condition!

Nice find JR - I don't think I've even seen a manual version of these in the wild. I ended up finding an '05 S-Type R after you and Samcrac bought yours back in the day and I brought it back from the dead with a trans service, new plugs and coil packs. I drove it a couple years before selling to Carmax for a profit with 181, 000 miles in order to buy my '04 Bentley Arnage T that I currently still own (and love). You mention the sister car, the Lincoln LS - you are right, they are VERY hard to find in good shape. I owned 2 of them before my S-Type - an '03 LS V8 and an '04 LSE V8. The LSE was the fancy/sporty model with special wheels, round fog lights/aero kit, less chrome trim and solid red tail lights. They are great driving cars, but "finicky" to say the least, especially with transmissions and brittle plastic components in the cooling systems. If you find one, try to stick to Gen 2 (03-06) as they are at least a "little" more reliable than the 1st gens, but that may not be saying a lot. Keep up the great work, your channel is the best!

These are the type of videos that your normal viewers can relate to. Good Job!

Good looking car. I wanted the Lincoln LS but they were all over priced locally. The manual trans is definitely rare and cool for such a luxury auto. I am looking forward to you working your magic on it. Happy Holidays to you and the camera lady....YTM!

The v6 Duratec is a sweet engine. I had it in a 3 litre X Type. Aston Martin used it to make their V12.AND it has a camchain-no cambelt!!

My sister-in-law bought a used 3.0 Jaguar S-Type when she finished her Board exams to become a pediatrician. It was her dream car. She drove it over 150, 000 miles, and it was actually quite reliable. Hers was a deep blue with tan interior.

That steering wheel looks like it may have a new life form growing on it. You may want to keep a sample and send it to the University!

These have that retro look of the 60s years. Kinda neat. I always liked these over their other models except the E type.
Happy New Year, JR!

I'm very much looking forward to seeing the process of giving this rare kitty a new lease on life!

I think you got a good deal. The lack of sat nav I wouldn’t worry about. I have a 2008 X-Type 2.2 sport manual and the last update disc is 2012.
That said it still works better than some newer models 😂.

Watching now, hoping this one works out. They're cool cars in general and even better if you get one that's actually reliable 👍

I just did a three part series on my 04 S Type. Great car, can't wait to get it finished. The electric parking brake works on the automatics as well. I hate them also. I see your dash is cracked in the same place mine is. I also noticed your engine coolant low message. I paid $200 for mine, well worth it.
