Your mechanical mastery of changing number plates is unmatched.

It's a good one because it doesn't have the mega dated Sat Nav, instead having the classically elegant dials.

Another x100 XKR owner here too, great cars! A little baggy in the corners but such class and luxury.. and I still look back at it as I lock it.

I have owned a 1999 version of this, same colour configuration, since 2001. 92, 000 k’s on the clock. Immaculate like this and I love it. I still get the butterflies though.

I had a brief panic when you said “treat it like a stock car”. I had visions of you taking around Belle Vue Stadium!

I've never driven one so I can't say I'd love driving it, but I do love the design. I've loved it since it came out and it still looks class. Absolutely timeless.

It was my dream car when I first saw one in 96/97. Bought an XK8 in 2019 and a 2003 XKR in 2023. And still is my dream car...

I had one same year. Rust is a problem. One thing I should mention to any prospective buyer which is never mention in buyers guides, always check the heater blows hot air. The heater has its own 12V booster pump. They go wrong not especially expensive. However official jaguar way to change it is to remove the gearbox. It can be done by removing the inlet manifold, a bit fiddley but possible

I drove a succession of v8's and finally the diesel version of the XJ for 30 years. Never let me down for almost a million miles. They left an impression that is very special for a petrol head. Feel so lucky to have enjoyed the experience.

Wow, what a journey! From dream car to surprise turn of events, this was a really interesting watch. Loved the honesty about not feeling the spark you expected. The car looks incredible after the valet and refurb though! Good luck finding it a new home that will cherish it
