Im here for the people who don't own a mustang complaining about it being called a Mustang.

We bought one of these. Couldn't convince Mrs Gadget to get a tesla so this got the vote. She doesn't care about tech or EV's so its a good test for how the vehicle suits someone who just wants a normal car. She has also got used to one pedal driving. 17, 000k later and we love it. Solar home charging means its free to drive most of the time. So happy to give it a thumbs up from me.

I’ve been driving a Mach-E for close to 3 years in Northern Canada and I LOVE it. An AWD EV is amazing on ice (better traction than I’ve ever experienced in any combustion car). I just drove a 5, 000km round trip from Whitehorse to Vancouver and it’s a fantastic road-tripper.

And yes, it’s a Mustang. I routinely smoke combustion ‘Stangs in it. That torque is hard to resist.

Hi Paul, as a petrol head, I've ridden in a tesla 3, didn't like the screen set up, yes the ride was very harsh, but my misses said the back seat was road noisy and cramped.
the beginning of Sept, had a chance to drive a RWD ford machE, was very impressed, as anXR6 owner, found it almost the same, ride and sitting position, with the wipers and indicators being reversed behind the steering wheel.
lt felt so normal driving the machE, l really liked the regen one pedal driving mode, in the many k's of city driving, we had gained over 20% recharge by using regen instead of brakes. lnterior was so good, would l buy one, yes, but the entry model, sorry Paul, ford have done a great job, but my ice FGXR6, drives just as firm, quiet and handles the same.

We've had our Mach E Select for about 4 months now and are loving it! My partner works further away than me so he uses it during the week and I use it after work and weekends. I miss driving it during the week as it's so much fun to drive! Added bonus of being able to change it off our solar on weekends so it's almost free most charges.

On those rough, rough roads during your test drive, your head was bobbing around and body jostling side to side in the seat and yet not a single rattle from the Mach-e. In fact, hardly any road noise at all. Well done Ford.

You can still drive the mach e without the phone or keypad. You can just enter a passcode on the infotainment system to start the car. I’ve done this many times

im driving a mach e premium right now. the ride is definietly not as bad as made out here. in fact i think its quite smooth and i live in a regional area with terrible roads lol... the charging speed i also found acceptable with 20%-80% taking 42 mins on a evie 75kw charger and costing $29, and the charger location is not at all difficult to access so found that comment interesting. the comment about stuff being visible outside the car if you put it in the console i understand and literally thought the same thing the first time i went to do this, but the console has a sliding cover under the arm rest for exactly that reason. however i definitely agree the brakes are touchy and need further refinement.

A good review Paul. The adjustable head rests on the Ford are a good creature comfort. I drive a Model Y and you cannot adjust the headrests.

Ouch, you can’t get premium dual motors in Australia? We have a premium dual motor with the standard range battery (which is LFP) and we think it’s amazing as a sporty family EV. I think people are pushed into longer range batteries by sales guys, when in reality they’re often not needed. We typically charge ours once a week and because it’s LFP we charge to 100%. In my opinion, it’s the most solid and well put together feeling EV I’ve been in and we own two other brands of EV on top of having experienced others including Teslas. The Mach E was our gateway EV and it remains our most solid. I’ve put the offer out before, but if you’re back in Southern California, we are down in the outskirts of San Diego and you can experience our R1S and Mustang Mach E as well as a more representative situation for charging, compared to LA. LA is the by far the worst place to try and charge an EV in the entire USA- as mentioned in Out Of Spec Reviews recent video.

Own one and have owned a crap non performance but convertible mustang in the past. I love it. It far exceeds any other car I have owned but that is a fairly pitiful list. Coming from a base model manual fiat500 pop to this is amazing. I love the adaptive cruise control it's better than our Mazda cx9. I don't enjoy 1 peddle driving but I might have to try it again. Since I can charge at home overnight and generally don't go long distance I haven't had any issues just using the provided charger. I think I will wait till I get the Tesla charger adapter to take it on any road trips. I do wish it just had a normal trunk release button. Having acceleration is amazing it is better than the Mazda for sure. My daughter says it should have heated seat in back just glad they aren't trying to charge me for heated seats for now.

I traded in a high spec Model 3 for a base Mach-e and love the Mach-e. Won't be going back to Tesla. Will consider a Rally Mach-e in the future.

I got the base model Select via a novated lease a month ago. Everyone has their views but for me it is impressive, could not be happier with it. Could not justify the Premium. The Select has an LFP battery as opposed to the NMC battery in the Premium and GT. Can charge the LFP battery to 100% more often whereas the NMC mostly to 80%. Considering that the battery is then a similar useable size so why the extra for an additional 18kw in power, the bigger battery, ambient lighting, slightly different headlights and red brake calipers plus a few other trinkets?. 20 to 80 percent charge in 25 minutes at a Tesla supercharger is not too bad really. The Select is a base model but certainly is not specced like one.

Its a shame you guys do not have the 2024 MachE Rally avaiable over there yet they have fixed allot of things and it has the best ride of all the MachE's. The Rally MachE does not have a problem with power cutting out after a certain time and they added bigger motors to it too to help with performance also.

Paul in sketch you can play naughts and crosses vs the car… my kids love it… in ranger also

It's really good once you get past all the initial Ford quality issues and if you don't have to go to a dealer (they don't know how to service these or they're sandbagging them).

Drove both the Standard Rwd and Premium AWD (Thailand) they handle way better than a model Y in my opinion and brakes are absolutely amazing but the original tires Bridgestone Turanaza T005 makes the car so bouncy and gave it a harsh ride around town but when changed to the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV more settled at high speed and more comfortable over bumps

Now with 35k kms but one fault is the door mechanism some Mach e fails so it still opens but the keyless unlock and lock don’t work and replacing the part is quite complicated and very expensive to fix around 500-700 AUD

Charging over 80% will drop to only 35kw not great for road trips

Moreover software is fine have CarPlay and amazing speakers and quite good safety assist just need to get over the fact that it’s still not really a mustang only the handling but yea mustang needs noise and not a SUV

Overall, It’s ok but there are also the Model Y to consider which have a reclining back seat and more storage space and Ioniq 5 with 800V charging and a more configurable regenative braking system 😊

I test drove a new Model Y performance and hired a 4 year old standard range Model Y recently. Driving around the inner western suburbs of Sydney where the roads are atrocious, I didn't feel the complaint that everyone has about the suspension that so many YouTubers have. I don't notice any difference between these and my current Audi Q3 or any of the other Audis I've owned for the past 20 years. Driven in and driving other brands I don't feel such a big difference either.
