Ford Mustang Mach-E 2024 review: Select | Long-term electric car test of Kia EV6 family SUV rival

All of a sudden, the number of options in the all-electric mid-size SUV segment has multiplied, with new contenders emerging left, right and centre. The 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is one such model to have recently launched, with it not to be confused with the pony car with which it takes its name.

That said, given its sports-car connections, expectations are high for the Mustang Mach-E to deliver a far more superior driving experience than its more mainstream rivals, all the way from the entry-level Select to the flagship GT – which, to be fair, is performance-orientated anyway.

Speaking of the Mustang Mach-E Select, in this expert review, CarsGuide Senior Journalist Tom White spends three months living with it to find out if it lives up to its name, despite being a base specification for the next-generation pony car. I purchased a grabber blue Premium less than 6 months ago. I traded a 16 SQ5 for it and Im not disappointed. This car creates extreme reactions in public. Most absolutely love it and the color...but recently a fellow walked past my car and shouted "thats not a real mustang i dont care what anyone says.". And then I watched him walk to his bus stop. 🤷🏽‍♂️

One problem that I found is the back draft. There is a big vacuum. The back window get dirty very quick. That also effects your mileage range. I like that you can turn off your headlights during the day. Saves some battery.

I am very surprised at the comments here clearly you do not own one. I researched the Mach GT performance for seven months and it is exactly how they review it. You are begging for a red light just so you can takeoff. It is amazing and the looks you get From people who wish they had one are exactly why these comments are why you are commenting negatively. Go test drive one and you will understand. Also I have the cyber orange amazing color.

Ford's navigation system in not worth C _ _ P. I began to load in the address of the location I needed to go. As I was inputting the address. Ford Navigation began to download totally different locations. Most in different states. When I finished inputting the address. The navigation could not find the address. Then I inputted the location name. I t found it. It showed a different location. This is the third time I attempted to use Ford's Navigation and it was totally wrong.

Another thing I despise about ford's navigation is the scale of the map. Default is about 1 1/2 inch equals 200 FT. The map on the screen is approx. 6 inches. when traveling at 70MPH. You travel the 600 ft in a matter of seconds. You easily miss your exit notification. You can change the scale. So now you have a bigger map. You can see far ahead. NOT SO! as you travel the scale reverts back to 200ft with out any notification. As you are driving. You glance at the map to know where you are going. as you should you are looking ahead. then you glance back at the map. " IT IS DIFFERENT ". the scale has changed.
