Nova 2024: NASA says we are about to witness a once-in-a-lifetime explosion in the sky. It's not the anticipated supernova of Betelgeuse. Instead, it's about the sudden appearance of a nova in the sky. The term "nova" means "new" in Latin, referring to a "new star" in the sky. It's a transient astronomical event that causes the sudden appearance of a bright, apparently new star that slowly fades over time. This spectacular nova will occur in a star system known as T Coronae Borealis, or T CrB, situated in the constellation of Corona Borealis, approximately 3,000 light-years away. The best part is that this celestial event can be seen with the naked eye.

I’m in my 60’s, and I’m now having a hard time keeping up with all the “once in a lifetime” astronomical events that have happened in my lifetime! 😵‍💫

If this event happens every 80 years and the light takes 3, 000 years to reach us that means 37 more explosions have already happened.

I discovered with my own eyes the Nova in the constellation of Cygnus in 1976.

I'm expecting it so soon, and i hope it will come out accurately in the sky.

I'm so glad that we have Nasa Astronomers and many of the sky watchers that are out watching the skies for us daily and are keeping us alert. Keep up the good work.🌃🌇🌅🌘🪐🌠🌌☀️🌛⭐️☄️🛰🚀

If it is anything like my old Chevy Nova, it will light up the sky when it blows!

Very interesting 🧐🤔. I’m unlikely to see it here in the U.K though due to clouds and light pollution. 🙄🤦🏾‍♂️

T Coronae Borealis this is a star what I've never heard before because the Star Explosion Betelgeuse is that famous I don't know any other star explosions, but it's so great you can see that star explosion just with the Naked Eye can't wait to see that! When this star explosion is? Those Mova Globes looks really awesome moving spheres of planets, moons and suns with beautiful art! 🌏🌍🌎🌑🌕☀️🌠🌌🌟💥

You will need to know where to look to see this star. At maximum magnitude it’ll be about 2nd magnitude for a day or so, about the brightness of Polaris, the Northstar. You won’t even notice it if you don’t know where to look.

PBS needs to film it and make it the opening to Nova.

I hope there will be no clouds to play spoilsport for this spectacular event.

It will be so minor that you would have to know exactly where to look.
