You absolutely need money to live in your car. Car repairs, gas, food. Everything cost money.

Be a trucker and make money while doing this. And the family walking by was a hilarious photobomb😂

I did it for about 7 months years ago.

Had a membership to planet fitness back when they were still 24/7 and would sleep in Wal-Mart parking lots (back when they were 24/7)

Having access to bathrooms and showers plus being able to workout on the regular made a big difference in keeping one's appearances and sanity together.

Society has truly broken down when people aspire to live in their car...

Living in my car was the most spiritual experience that I have ever had. I ran out of money and got to experience God supplying my daily bread and taking care of my daily needs. I volunteered and felt so free not having a daily schedule.

That's fine until the car breaks down and you need a repair that costs a few thousand dollars. Be smart, people, and have your strong backup plans in tact.🦋

The only reason people are so mad is because they are not brave enough to take a leap of faith so they are trying to gind every reason why this is wrong.

We all should stop paying taxes and stop paying for rent or mortgage live in your car or a gang of y’all live in one house, stack up on food so you don’t have to shop for at least a month or two, let’s break down this broken system and make them negotiate with us for a better deal.

No, you need money to live in your car. You need alot of money to live this way!! Besides all your other established bills, like school loans, credit cards, car loan, etc, You also need money for gasoline, food, your phone, (My phone bill is $150 a month from AT&T because I ended up with 2 phones, (gotta get rid of one), car insurance, gym membership for showers, storage space for your other stuff that will eventually go back into a real home, portable generator (if you plan on living this way for a long while), portable refrigerator (if you plan a long stay), solar panels (not really needed), food for a pet if you have one, all your toiletries, skincare, makeup (you need to take care of your skin being outside all the time)!! Oil changes for your car, car repairs if needed. Snacks, money for some kind of entertainment, like a movie every 6 months or so, going to a thrift store for clothes, blankets, pots or pans, etc. if you need them. Portable 12v fans or battery powered fans when it's hot. Batteries needed for fans. (Very expensive).
I'm sorry, but I've never been able to save a dime living this way because food and gasoline are so expensive. And you can't just sit in one spot forever. You need to move about using up gasoline. Plus gasoline to keep the car running in the bitter cold, or stifling heat. I'm in Texas and probably spend about $300-500 a month on gasoline in the summer because it's so hot, even at 2am.
So no, you cannot save money living this way. And, it's not a good life. I don't care what any of these "influencers" tell you. This way of life truly sucks and brings depression! It does, however, being you closer to God, that's true! Because you spend EVERY SINGLE DAY praying for relief from this lifestyle!

You need insurance, and the money for gas, tolls, upkeep and repairs.

Being told by my parents that I’m a brat for not wanting to stay in a hostile working environment and I need to stay working and focus on the end goal is making me want to choose alternative paths of life. Thank you so much for this information ❤

No one wants to willingly live in their car. I did for two months in the middle of summer. I was absolutely miserable, stressed with no peace of mind. Constantly on the look out and on alert. Had to go out my way to use the bathroom and shower in strange places. Its not worth it for me

If you’ve ever been homeless, having a car is essentially more important than an apartment. It’s shelter and transportation. It’s great if it’s a van or mobile home. Gas stations and hotels have public restrooms. Shower at the Y or community centers with showers/pools.

Gas money is easy to come by and the library helps you be able to use WiFi and look for work if in need of a job.

She chose to quit her job.

It cost $ to travel, tags, licenses, insurance, etc… and she has a storage unit. Oh and car note if not paid off.
