As an English person, I absolutely love listening to the southern accents because they sound so warm, unpretentious, and inviting. Like their foods, it always has a comforting air about it. 💕

Thank ou so much for sharing. I am from Louisiana and am now 72 years young. Lol My Mom made homemade ice cream just like this. It brought back so many happy memories. Before my mom passed away many years ago, I asked her for a recipe. She said what recipe I just make it. Lol It was the same for her old fashioned fudge. I am the oldest of 8 children and we all took turns sitting on the freezer, all the while thinking it wouldn’t freeze if we didn’t. Lol I did find a recipe for the fudge online and it was pretty close. The ice cream custard never was quite the same. She didn’t cook with recipes. It was frustrating to say the least😂 So thank you for the memories. I am a retired teacher and I made ice cream with my students but I often wished I would have had a recipe. Thank you, thank you. ❤

My momma used a dozen eggs and cooked all hers on the stove top and used milk. After it cooked thick she would add the cream. Then to the churn, the best was fighting who could turn the longest. Thank you so much for the memories

Just finished making homemade vanilla ice cream this morning using a ice cream maker similar to yours. Yes had eggs in it and they were cooked too.

I made a gallon of peach ice cream made with eggs, and a gallon of vanilla without eggs for mothers day. They were both a big hit.

That was such an amazing video, the ice cream making looks so cool, will definitely be trying this recipe soon. I just absolutely loved your house, everything about it is so beautiful, all the trees behind it is like a perfectly peaceful place and the cross in your kitchen with amazing grace touched my heart. Thankyou from India. May the Lord bless your beautiful family.

On my grandpa's back porch, we made pineapple ice cream or vanilla and added blueberries that we just picked from the blueberry bushes. Yes, all of us kids cranked the ice cream churn.

I like vanilla with fresh peaches. We haven't made ice cream for many years, so we eat Blue Bell! Love the old crank freezer best says my husband.

Chris, you reminded me of the time we made ice cream at my aunt's house. All the kids took turns churning it, and yes, someone sat on the top. I think I was 7 or 8. After it was done we added fresh strawberries we had picked off my aunt's farm. It's still one of my favorite memories. We made ice cream about a year ago when my son came home for a visit. He's a Naval submariner and out somewhere in the oceans. You two gave me a fond memory of that time. Thank you. I miss him.

My grandmother use to make it from custard with eggs. Blue Bell ‘s vanilla taste close to hers. She would make it on Saturdays and pour it into those metal ice cube trays without the insert that made the cubes. You know the things you had to lift the handles to free the cubes. She also made a homemade pound cake to die for.
After church on Sundays my dad would drive off with his mother-in-law to take her home and get the Goods to bring home to us. Oh how we enjoyed. “MEMORIES”!

My grandmother had a huge peach tree and during the summer our family would add fresh peaches to mama's cooked custard. The My daddy always made us snow cream ( whenever it snowed! We live in south Mississippi!)

My grandpa worked for the dairy here. I got homeade ice cream at all the holidays. At Christmas grandma would make Scottish shortbread, all the crumbs went over the ice cream as toppings. This video brought back such wonderful memories. Thank you!

Growing up we always had vanilla homemade ice cream. When my little brothers came along they liked chocolate so my mother melted Milky Way candy bars and after it cooled down, added it to the vanilla ice cream mixture to freeze. It tasted similar to a Wendy’s frosty. After I married, hubby’s family only liked banana ice cream so that’s all I’ve made for the last 53 years…delicious.

I make mine this way but on the stove top, just like my puddings. Never had an issue.
